Shop dandy: trying to walk the talk of supporting my fellow craftsmen and women and domestic producers. I'm making an effort to buy less and buy better.

I just noticed your Oregon locale has been changed to PA. Wondering why you made the move from Oregon to Pennsylvania, and how much downtime did the move create for you in terms of bike fabrication?
It was a huff, that's for sure! My wife, Karen, works in academic libraries and took a position at Penn State. This is where they keep it, so off we came! The move has been great so far. It took a bit longer than planned to get the space nailed down and then built in. I'm glad I took my time to do it right, though- the new space is great and the lay out seem like it's really going to work for me.
I received an email out of the blue today. Stuff like this makes my week:
"Hi Eric.
You manufactured my offset stem back in Nov/Dec 2009.
Because the offset compensated for my left arm being a couple inches shorter than the right, due to various surgeries, I have been able to ride comfortably putting on 36,000 miles over these past 6 years. Except for one nick, that was easy to touch up, it still looks like new. I show it off quite often amazing many.
Many thanks again for your creativity and great workmanship."
