I might have missed it, but how much is the Inox going to cost? I think I need one. Very, very badly.

Pricing is not finalized yet, but I anticipate it to be around $3500.00

Took me a while before I figured out thats a number plate braze on.

I was kidding, sorta. I thought you wouldn't put fender mounts on principle.I personally love fenders for the winter, because I don't like the trainer. With the clearances already there and Serotta's fender option it wouldnt be difficult.

This bike is awesome, btw, Jerk, and for whatever it's worth, I think you totally priced it right. I want one.

    Craig, why stainless?

When I find myself daydreaming about the bikes of Paris-Roubaix, the rigs I get my panties all knotted up about are the custom one-off alloy rigs from a few years ago that were thrown together days before the start because the weather forecast changed. The philosophy at Gaulzetti Cicli [rightfully] revolves around pure unadulterated race-bikes dot period, and you've been vocal about alloy as the best material for that application - why'd you choose stainless over basing this sweet new rig on your corsa tubeset?

I'll take my answer off the air, and thanks for building me the best bike I've thrown a leg over.

Edit: I hope this didn't come across as me detracting - just curious!

good question. yeah, of course i could modify the corsa geometry to suit....and i be happy to build a corsa in inox geometry or vis a versa. that being said, the corsa as it stands would be more than capable for paris-roubaix, deerfield or any dirt cobble crap you could throw at it. the idea behind the inox was to build a little more tire and mud clearance in to the design and slow down the handling just a bit by making the wheelbase a little longer and sdjusting the head angle and fork rake.

for me, the more stable geometry suits the ride of big oversize steel a little bit better than it would aluminum. the steel frame feels just as planted as the corsa, but it does have a slightly different road feel. i am using really big pipes on the inox- the bike does not flex- but it is a bit heavier and does have a different feel. please bear in mind though this is a question of nuance, and we're really talking about intangibles here. in act, i could very well be imagining the differences in feel between the two materials.

what i can tell you is that given the diameters of steel tubes, (the smaller seat tube, the smaller bottom bracket shell, the smaller stays- i can get more tire and mud clearance with the inox than i could with a corsa keeping the geometry consistent. in order to get the weight and rigidity where i want it, steel allows me to use physically smaller tubes and achieve more clearance.. this is just a small thing- but the small things add up.

Thank you Craig- but why stainless vs some more standard oversize steel tubing?

Whats the main difference in geometry?
    Why the change?
I gather you had a nicely dialed thing going as is.
And isn't it really about fit and a rider's center of gravity wrt to wheelbase position?

the inox is made for really, really bad road conditions. so it has a slightly longer wheelbase, slightly lower bb, slightly more fork rake. the "fit" measurements are the same as on the corsa. it's really a special bike for special conditons.
