Pzzz me off for Thursdays and every other day for the rest of my days.

I have been feeling not 100% for about 2 years now. The doctor diagnosed last year chronic fatigue. Some days feels great other days feel like shit. A few weeks ago I felt a hard lump in neck so bring to my doctors attention. Fast forward to today and the doctor is telling the hardened lymph node has to come out and they need to do a contrast CT scan asap as I have a mass in my right lung which he says looks like lymphoma. Right now the out look is favourable but lots to go through before anything is really known. Not sure what to feel.
Might give the push ups a miss today and go and file some mitres instead.

I wish there were a good option for di2 road triple chainrings.
/grump.
di2 hydro triple would be next level on our tandem, and with where we live it doesn't make sense to step down to a smaller chainring to fit an XTR front derailleur.

getting it started early...
Wife just got back from the Dr. Suspected stress fracture of femoral head. X-rays next week. She doesn't run. Or do any jarring-to-the-joints exercises. She's had discomfort and pain since Joe Martin Stage Race. If you'll recall, she t-boned a dog and went down hard back in December.
It is really, really hard for me to sit here and not think the two aren't related. Also really, really hard for me to not sit here and wonder why she waited 6 months to go to the Dr, rather than continue racing and working out. In Vegas, we did a lot of walking...there were a few points where she had to sit down because her hip was hurting so bad. I have a very bad feeling about the upcoming x-ray and MRI.

If we're getting started early...
You know how sometimes you get a really great opportunity and then you wait for the phone call telling you it was a mistake? I got that call...
I'll do my pushups but I have a big one on my mind. Missed a good friend at Charm City this weekend (also strong rider, brilliant scientist and great family man). Figured he was just doing something with his wife and kids or traveling for work. Learned from his team mate that he was diagnosed with a very, very bad medical problem. I'll omit details for privacy but a few folks here may know who and what I'm writing about. I've been sad since and staring at the ceiling pondering our collective mortality, being grateful for my good health and rethinking my future. Whatever your version of prayer/karma/good thoughts/juju is, send a little this guy's way today. Thanks.

Thank you. I saw the GP yesterday after a contrast CT and it looks like we are onto it early with only the lymph nodes in the chest and neck. Waiting to see the oncologist now and get it confirmed and treated. GP was cautiously optimistic so I'll take that and run. Obviously depends on response to treatment. Fortunately a good friend and my insurance broker had set me up with a nice Trauma cover which will pay for treatment and time off work so I have no stress there as long as I fit the criteria.

Four run-ins with cars today. Two included contact; it was minimal and I didn't go down, but it was contact nonetheless. I was lit up like a christmas tree and on roads clearly marked as sharrows with "Bikes May Use Full Lane" signs. And still...
I'd do pushups for the early grump but I did something my wrist and it hurts like hell. That's the second grump.
It's 2 am, I just finished a massive homework assignment, and there's not a drop of booze in the house.

Somebody stole my rear bicycle light on the train. He didn't want to use it and really just wanted to be mean as left the mount.
