Spotted on the street the other day...I respect a bike in this condition as it's being brought back to life while being ridden as it should.

^ That's why the groups from Signature, Rapha, and Maglia Rosa all make sure to have their espresso at different coffee shops. Wouldn't want the FBI and ATF to come down too hard.
My friend in the Catskills got his new bike a few weeks before I went up there. He's ridden bikes forever, but says this one is like no other. Huge power but super smooth and the handling is superb (my paraphrasing of his words which were multitudinous though he did use superb several times.) His analogy: like a hand forged and finished kitchen knife that is heavy in the box but light and balanced perfectly in the hand. And it goes through everything like butter.

BTW, that's a Ducati 900SS in the background and somewhere there is a BMW R90S and a Moto Guzzi LeMans.
This is jaw droppingly gorgeous and too practical minus those wheels.

This might be nerd territory, but this one got my wheels spinning after leaving a friend of mine's gig a couple nights ago.
That bike is all sort of cool.
I think Sean here makes a great point about what the scrambler really is and why it makes such a great all around bike.
I mean, the only thing it cant really do is be a full on track bike but I bet it still would be a riot to ride it on one.

Would love to hear about why you went this model as well. Moto Corsa here in PDX has only had a few of these even come in there doors so you're lucky to own one already!!!!!!

thanks guys.
there are quite a few of these at my local dealer, but they are a power seller for all of the major brands of motos aside from HD and BMW. apparently they won some award as the volume sales leader in the country in 2014.
i just liked the look and simplicity of the icon the best out of all of them. it really is a fun, versatile little bike. i'm a short guy and this thing is just 400#, so it's easy to toss around. everyone should own a ducati.
Over the last 20 years or so I've thought several times about getting a motorcycle (there's room in the garage for one, but not enough for another Alfa, otherwise I'd definitely get that) but every time I start to think seriously about it I decide that I'm happy enough with my risk level on two wheels on the bike, and don't feel like adding to it with something that has that kind of power-weight ratio and can go 75 mph on the highway.
I know I'm missing out on lots of fun, and feel like a wimp each time I back off and conclude that a motorcycle just isn't for me, but then I figure I can just go for a real bike ride instead...
You know what they say, at some point every true gearhead must own an Alfa and a Ducati.
Such a steady hand....

^^^ Holy shit, that's impressive. I can't draw a straight line using a ruler.
I could watch that level of craftsmanship/artistry for hours. My favorite part of all the car shows on TLC is watching them get painted and detailed. Thanks for sharing.
Muscle memory. It's an impressive skill he's built up. The outside line I can get but that inside line is just nuts.

Double trouble spotted on the streets of downtown Indianapolis.
Almost finished getting this back together. Still waiting on linkage bearings, a new chain and a battery. Also still have to mount the exhaust. I have a set of 2004 R1 forks to goon it when I get the other bits sorted for the swap. ie. the fork yokes, a front wheel and discs and the clip ons/switch gear. Can't wait t fire it up.
