That nice Sunbeam reminds me about finding a beautiful red S600 from the mid 60s at the show room of one of our local Honda dealers. What an interesting car. The 4 cylinder engine had a separate carburetor for each cylinder. Tachometer went up to 11,000. Chain drive. I bet that car is fun to drive. Probably took a lot of work to keep it running at its best. Predecessor of my S2000.

Best way to lunch a Subaru boxer? Drive it while overheating.

In one ride, two very different vehicles from Japan both of which I would love to own even though I have no use for them. The tiny Honda truck comes up to my shoulders and I didn't get a chance to find out how she got it into the US but I would find something to use it for.

Honda Acty. Take your pic - over 25 years old = fair game

The 25-year rule is resulting in many cool, previously forbidden-fruit vehicles being brought in. Presumably not inexpensively but legally. Doug DeMuro has reviewed a bunch of them.

Time “Travel” Thursday…gent with the Volvo wagon bought it from a guy who was looking for a return airline ticket to Dallas in exchange for the car. I mentioned the design of the factory luggage/ski rack, which he told me took him 8 years to track down. My wife didn’t get the humor of the Dan Gurney for President (1964) sticker…bike nuts appreciate car nuts, especially when luggage racks are involved.

Oh dear. Such a rabbit hole.

And Ryan, thanks to you starting me on this path, I have found that in Canada the rule is 15 years not 25. Which opens up a whole lot more. And Canada is where I would want this.

I don’t think I want the « track conversion » which is not to make it go faster but to crawl on the snow. And, what’s up with the Subaru Sambar minivan?

Yeah, there are dudes parking R34 Skylines in Canada right now waiting until they can come here. If you want to learn more, find the Smoking Tire Podcast with a Sean Morris who runs an import place in the US. It's pretty nuts.

Wrapping up the week, I give you Ford Friday. Last of the pics for me as I’ll miss the racing on Saturday and Sunday…headed on vacation. Again, the PVGP makes for a worthwhile visit if you enjoy vintage and exotic vehicles and in having such a variety of events over a 10-day period, there is something for everyone.

Oh man oh man Cobra's. Talk about a visceral, slap you in the face experience? Shelby delivers. One of my pals has a S.African variant which is a high end replica. They stretch the cockpit and use a bunch of vintage parts. The thing, it is a "thing", is a hoot to drive. Pick a gear, have fun. Bags of torque. His car has a fairly hot Cleveland and the correct gearing. The car is unbreakable.

LOL I can not sit in that GT so it is dead to me ;)
