This surprise landed in my inbox this morning:

So I'm listening to Call The Doctor right now. The first post-Janet, then the last pre-Janet...

They're going to get tired of hearing questions about Janet but, dammit, she's Janet.

Bought tickets today to see Wilco with Sleater-Kinney at Chastain park in August.

Will be fully vaccinated and ready for my first concert in over 2 years.

I saw them without Janet in 2019 (twice...) I miss Janet's crucial contribution tremendously.

Some Soul Coughing came through my buddy's stereo on the way to a ride the other day and I dove back in. I've forgotten how good that drummer/bassist combo is and how subtly incredible the drummer is. Good grooves, sneaky polyrhythms and interesting changes.

Oh hellz yeah! I so often forget that I have Ruby Vroom in my CD collection that it's like discovering new music every time I stumble across it.

The Wrecks, 'I want my life back now' and the catchy 'James Dean' are two highlights-think it's a couple of years old?

I fell back into Fishbone in a big way this week. Love that band so much and while searching for a show that was broadcast around 1992 I found this:

A rare night where I had the house to myself. Celebrated with some nice multichannel rock and roll played really loud

So good, but really needs some volume to pop.

    Lee Morgan's Sidewinder album

What a great trumpet player he was. Beautiful sounds. He could twist almost anything out of that horn. The two takes of Totem Pole are the sound I have in my head most of the time.
Gosh, I wish I could play like him.

The ticking of the clock. It's 3.40 in morning where I'm typing this, and probably time to try to get some sleep. Here's one thing I was listening to earlier in the day:
