Black Aeropress at home.
Straight Espresso at the coffee shop.

Straight Espresso at the coffee shop.
Doppio Ristretto, and repeat.
Word. Just finished my Aeropress morning jolt...black like my heart.
Gotta go ride now!
i found the cup, 'twas Mountain Flyer. the kettle squeals in delight just now, only minutes from a good cup.
do you press users "punch the cap" or just steep and mash. i read somewhere about releasing the gases...can't tell a diff, but if i'm standing 'round the kitchen whilst it steeps, i'll stir the gases out.

Saw this quote from Conan O'Brien just the other day: "I like my coffee the way I like my women. Yes, that's right, I like my coffee blond, slutty, and with low self-esteem."
Me, I prefer my coffee with as much cream & sugar as you can possibly cram in there. I want it to taste like Hagen Daz coffee ice cream, only hot. (But not too hot.)
Basically, I hate the taste of coffee. And yet I drink a ton of it!
There are "ways"?
Black as midnight, black as pitch, blacker than the foulest witch.
(copious espresso, or as close to it as is available)

At a cafe here (post-ride coffee) I do local Venezuelan style: Marron [double shot espresso with a steamed milk, one sugar]
At home, if I have my espresso maker set up (been put was to make space for baby bottle fix'ns): the same [double shot with steamed milk, spoon of sugar].
At work (formerly), drip type coffee maker: black, no sugar.
At Starbucks or other US coffee house: house coffee black, no sugar.
Road tripping, i.e., Love's Travel Stop or 7-11 coffee in the US: black, no sugar.
Bike tripping: Big Sky Bistro French Press, black, no sugar
I like coffee
Just replaced my started espresso setup (and by starter I mean that I used it every day for over 5 years) with something more... timeless:
I've had the La Pavoni for a few weeks, and my old grinder just wasn't cutting it. I saw the Mazzer on ebay for a song and scooped it up. I spent yesterday with an air compressor and various solvents cleaning 10 years of beans out of it, changing the burrs, and messing with the circuits so that the on/off/start switch worked the way I wanted it to. I still need a more elegant dosing solution but the Pepsi bottle will do for now. Let me tell you, my girlfriend wasn't happy when she saw the grinder, haha.
Action shots:
Mmmm, 10 year old espresso grounds

The front of the beast
straight up black if it's coffee. in italy i discovered the espresso w/ a small bit of sugar. yum
Coffee should be black as Hell, strong as death, and sweet as love - turkish proverb.
I'm a big fan of that proverb. The other one i like: Black as night and sweet as a stolen kiss.
Generally if I'm making coffee at home, with my french press, I drink it black. At work, with the break-room coffee maker and beans from Costco, I'll do what needs to be done in order to make it palatable.
Espresso: with sugar.
The occasional fat-fuck-accino if the mood strikes.
