I'd like to bring this thread back please.
Lately it's been Perfect Manhattans and a request for the bartender to use a good rye he/she doesn't usually pour.

I've been on an Old Fashioned kick lately when going out for dinner. This one restaurant we've been going to lately makes them so that you can actually taste the bourbon. It's worth the upgrade to a high quality liquor. It's a nice change of pace from my go to beer.
Nope, it was correct the first time.
Michter's.

Whiskey. From the bottle. In my underwear.
Got some cash
Bought some wheels
Took it out
'Cross the fields
Lost Control
Hit a wall
But we're alright

Breckinridge Bourbon.
Sometimes i use those racquetball-sized ice balls. Sue me.

Just picture a fat Charlie from Always Sunny in Philadelphia in Rapha merino boxers with a bottle of Bulleit rye.
The bottle usually stays on a Humes and Berg bass drum case I use as a night stand; you know, in case I wake up thirsty, and because I don't have furniture.
Can't get you a photo because I usually don't like company.
Totally not a problem. It's under control.

Rye or Bourbon by choice if its a NOT a work-related function. But for those times when maintaining the appearance of sobriety (handling one's liquor) is in my best interest, I go with the Americano which is basically a Gin-free negroni. It comes in a rocks glass, has a great color (& to my thinking) a great taste. Since Campari & sweet vermouth are low in alcohol content, you can drink more than one & give off an impression of sophistication for an entire evening.
If its a great bar, they will have for Carpano Antica, the most delicious sweet vermouth ever made. If work is footing the bill, ask for that!
Tried this the other day, quite interesting. hints of apple and cinnamon.
Pritchards is another Tennessee Whiskey not far from Lynchburg. Very good stuff.
I've ridden my bicycle past their distillery many times. It's in a tiny village in the middle of nowhere.
Prost!
