Sweet boards! Bummer that I never could get the hang of snowboarding nearly as well as skiing, and surfing nearly as well as...floating.

I've always struggled with surfing. Picked up just about anything else I did pretty quick. By the end of the first week on the snowboard I was getting air in the half pipe. Surfing? I still suck at it.
Surfboards are beautiful objects though. Love looking at them and hope to have a go at a Grain board at some point.

Beautiful, Spence. Makes me want to ditch work and drive out to Faria for the day.
One of my favorites around here.

Cycling is a great sport, but there is nothing like catching an awesome wave.
profkrispy, thank you. I don't surf but I really enjoy looking at your work.

Look at that corduroy setup!! Man I would kill for sets like that. Seriously I would kill some one... with my hands....or a spoon
Your reminding me its been way too long since I've been surfing. Also, your boards look amazing, if I was in your area I would be in contact about something in the future.

Wow, love your work. How do you get time to cycle with such an awesome wave locally and all those toys to take out? Never mind the time you must put into them.
My folks are moving, and only two of the four boards my brother and I own between us are allowed to make the move.
If anyone in NJ needs a board or two let me know. I think the ones being cut loose are a single fin 6'1" and a 7'8" tanker.

Holy shit... profkrispy = Spence?????
Mad respect from a fellow master shaper..... of 4 boards total. =)
Cool that you're a bike guy, too. Didn't know.
Your sleds are gorgeous but posting pics of perfect point breaks is pretty cruel to us east coasters, even if it is a right.
I will say, generally, the % difference in cost between hand made vs off the rack in surfing is not nearly as far as it is in custom frames. My custom board was $900, off the rack I would have been spending around 700-800.
That said, prof's stuff is on another level, and definitely not the standard for custom boards. So much variation in what he is building, and obviously a ton of time+experience goes into each one of those concepts and designs.
I have found that sometimes if the shaper gets excited about the project he may build you something cheaper than you can find off the rack from the big three and leagues better glassing/finish work. I scored my best fish from a well known CA shaper for much less than they sell for to the hipsters at mollusk/pilgrim. Shipping included.
