Get Your Grump on Thursdays - Was (What's chapping my @ss today?)

i'm doubling up today. i had a dr appntmnt today/routine checkup. due to a cple old injuries and some new fitness stuff i'm attempting (failing at), i hve some pretty significant pain now and then. you know what fixes it? hard drugs or massage. so he wrote me a scrip for massage therapy, i only take the hard stuff when shit is broken. my health insurance does not cover therapeutic massage, only chiropractic. is it nuts/ironic/sick/etc...that they'll cover a scrip for vicodin, percoset, etc...and even the therapy to get un-addicted to them, but not exactly what would ease my pain/make me healthier? does anyone know anything about this? i find it pretty sick the drug scrips that get thrown around like party snacks, but not massage.

This is why it is so frustrating to be a psychologist. Docs prescribe scripts for antidepressants (which never have worked and never will) for PTSD, we can get you up and running in 8-12 sessions, but insurance won't pay because it's not medically necessary.
(ps I am not anti-medicine or anti-doc in the least).

OK so it's Friday. Since I can't muster more than about three push-ups I'll punish myself by eating more delicious bacon.

Seconding this Grump. Y-names on grown men is just...well..it's Unacceptable.

you'll find this perfectly normal in my part of the country. it's also much more handy than using Jr/Sr/III or big/little/fat/shiny/goofy or other modifiers to differentiate folks of same name. So my grump is folks who move down here and call my Dad, Tommy, Tom or worse yet, "T" because he won't answer to "Tom". It's not his fucking name. But if i'm up i yankeeville, I understand yous peoples take on it. That shit just don't fly down here. (When in Rome yo) It's like assuming a William is a Bill...

Last night's local news broadcast taught me there is now a website on which one can catalog all of the items one desires for Christmas; like Amazon's Wish List, but not site-specific. It's helpful, they told me, because it solves the problem of how to communicate to everyone what you'd like them to get you for Christmas.
