Pardon the comment. Those old Vettes are lovely to look at and quite miserable to drive. There I said it.

Well the Vette does run, the other sports vintage car experience involves 6volt electrics, rain and darkness.

I look forward very much to getting mine and posting first pics and driving reports. As I have posted here years ago, I had an NA Miata from the very beginning. I was the second owner and the car had been driven by the original owner appropriately, meaning fairly hard. But even as a then-20+ year old car everything worked, including the AC and the pop up headlights. I took it on several road trips and never found it to be claustrophobic, even at 6’ tall. There seemed to be enough elbow room and footwell room that I wasn’t squirming around looking for more space. The designers clearly did their homework WRT ergonomics. I’m hopeful that 35 years after the first one, the ND3 has that same feeling but with modern enhancements. I ordered mine without ever driving one or sitting in one, such is my faith in Mazda. Hopefully not a mistake.

I do not expect the new one to get a trailer hitch receiver for a bike rack, but my old one had the 1" receiver and a basic rack. With the bike on and the top down it would max out at about 85 MPH. But what a blast it was to have such a tiny fun car AND be able to bring the bike.

No I didn't but what a gorgeous car. Anyone else notice the early 60s Suburban in the background of the Corvettes pictured? In the early 80s I had a(actually two at once, one for parts) 1964 4wd with a PTO winch, a real beast in the 60s. I had a lot of fun and was my work truck for a while using it, among other things, to help a friend build a house that was only accessed with 4wd, great times. Wish I still had it.

Could be some engineering ideas in this one. Bike might fit where the tires are.

Funny, I was looking more at the "slow cars". I want to keep my license. That will be the red Cord convertible for me as I think the Delahaye roadster is financially out of reach to me and I still need to save money to buy my grandfather's old Bugatti when it will go on auctions again.

For sure. I just have a GT3 Touring fetish for no good reason. Otherwise I’m enjoying lot 86, the VW with the dash mounted coffee maker (!) and lot 186, the happy little 280 SL. Tootling around in a minty little car seems like a nice idea.

From the Pebble Beach auction I spotted this Delahaye 135, featured in Jason Isbell's beautiful song Hudson Commodore (first three stanzas):

This is an unusual Mini which originated in the UK as a CKD (complete knock down) which was shipped to Setubal, Portugal to be assembled in 1977 as a means to avoid tariffs. This was also done in Italy, South Africa and other countries. The plant in Setubal was known as Industria de Montagem de Automoveis or IMA. As part of the agreement with BMC, the plant was allowed to make minor modifications or add 'local content'. This IMA Traveler was built with a lift gate rather than the more traditional 'barn doors' and has a fold down rear seat (perfect for bike transport !) This design was only offered for two or three years so is somewhat rare. The vehicle pictured underwent a nut and bolt restoration a few years back. If anyone would be interested, I am looking to find a new home for this classic.
