Just scored a case of Heady Topper and I am picking up a used high end Foosball table (christmas present for my boys). Stashing the table in my brother's garage, this going to make for a great post and pre-ride event.

First criminal trial. First jury trial. Jury came back this morning with a not guilty verdict.
Tomorrow morning I'm on my way to California for two weeks vacation. Starting in San Diego and working my way up the coast to SF. Camping on the beach somewhere near SLO, spending Thanksgiving in San Jose with aunt, uncle, and my favorite cousin. No more grumps here for a bit.
Counter to my Grump where I lamented the Ninja FedEx guy that I somehow missed delivering a signature required car part. As a result I went for a fatbike ride and put the roof back on my International Scout so I could intercept the package for the car. Awesome how a bicycle and a rusty old SUV could bring me back from seeing red.

New wheels delivered today.
Calendar cleared for a long-ish ride tomorrow.
Birthday dinner tomorrow at Embeya.
Probably pizza on Sunday.
Beer full of fridge.
Good haircut today and my winter beard is coming in nicely.

Beat me to it. G-reg, you've been called out. International Scout photos are requested asap.
I'm stoked that a rough week of work is finally over. My shoulder felt ok enough for me to workout for the first time in months and my legs are burning. And I'm listening to an old solo album I just discovered from a singer I like, it's on repeat and I'm loving it. And I'm going to go grease some pedal spindles and then hang out with a tattoo artist. Pretty rad Friday.
So now I am the older, supposedly-wiser greyhair in a startup filled with the usual startup Gen-X, Y, Millennial...and whatever other reductivist labels people between 18 and 55 get tagged with these days. The company is at a point where they need to stop acting like a startup and more like a mature operation, which is supposedly why I am here...to bring, ahem, Maturity. Eegads. While I am jazzed about it all...it's a great, energizing opportunity at this point in my career, (can't afford to just ditch it all and join the Peace Corps yet...and I've toiled enough years in the Big Corps world...) I walk around all day with Groucho's words about not wanting to join any club that would have him for a member ringing in my ears.
On Wednesday, my 88 year old mother had three heart valves replaced, she is out of ICU and starting rehab. Medicine and science are f_cking amazing.

Taking the kids to Oma and Opa's house for a week of Thanksgiving vacation. A week of sitting around the house and drinking beer and riding my bike and shooting guns and fishing. I need it so bad.
Insubordinate. And Churlish.
We finally have two good coffee roasters in town and a coffee shop that's just about coffee. I just stopped in for the hit and run special (espresso here, drop to go). Happy Friday.

Hanging out with great friends and their great boys tomorrow. I don't get to see them as much as I'd like, so I savor these times.
Plus chile and beer. And pie.
GO!
I almost feel fast enough to race! What happened? Might not want to get my new shoes muddy though..
Next week off for friend visits family dinners vintage fair rain rides good books little projects love letters deep meaningful navel gazing and pie.
It starts tonight with friend-made Cherry Bounce (whiskey version).

I'm just about to close the book on a rough, rough week at work. But my last meeting, a looooong workshop to plan some new features, was awesome and I'm excited to take on the project. And I'm starting to get the itch to back into a builder's queue...which means weeks/months of dreaming and scheming for N+1. That's a good thing because I enjoy the process.
Auk's words to live by:
Blow up and pin a picture of M. Bartoli on your wall. When you achieve that position, stop. Until then, stretch, ride, stretch, ride, eat less, and ride more.
