Auk's words to live by:
Blow up and pin a picture of M. Bartoli on your wall. When you achieve that position, stop. Until then, stretch, ride, stretch, ride, eat less, and ride more.
Mike: Hey, I figured out the NFS thing. Joshua educated me.
Joni: Great. I just put on my 9 drops before my ride.
Mike: Oh, well I just put on 12 drops after your ride. Sorry. When did you start doing Bicycle maintenance anyway?
Joni; Oh I haven't. I will stay out of this one.
Mike: Now I LOVE NFS. I was putting on too much. That TooTall. He's pretty awesome.
Joni: LOVE
(Everytime I hear NFS I think of Network File System and BSD Unix. :-)

Just got my NFS grease, and things are good. Now for a naive question. Why are so many lubes mediocre? I can't remember how many bottles of 'meh' I've suffered through before NFS showed up.

Purely so you use more of it and they sell more. The one issue Josh has is that NFS last so damn long he'll get repeat customers at best once a year and that's if they are over using the stuff.
I find most grease will get pushed out of the way for any of the hub systems. I like using a couple drops of NFS on all my hubs as I find that it keeps all the surfaces coated.

Hey Devlin, I've got enough statistics from e-commerce now that I can answer that question. It's looking like about 14 months for re-orders....people are over applying it ;)
Oooo good one T.K.

New game for the group, called "The formula is so secret that..."
The formula is so secret that...
It involved ingredients that themselves are secret formulas, like Coke and KFC. I know it's true because *nothing* slides through faster than a bucket of Original Recipe and a liter of Cherry Zero.
Except maybe Knudsen's Jamaican Lemonade, but I don't want to get into tinfoil hat territory...

OK, time for another go-round of promotion. Amazon is selling NFS-Silca and there are ONLY 10 reviews so far. What's up with that? Only ten? So here's the link to the product page. Write your review and post it up there.

What's the word on using NFS for firearms? Striped down my 1911 today and since I moved the shop away from home all the oils moved as well. So I've got time to contemplate which one of the dozen oils at the shop to use.
Although we have long guns around here for varmint eradication, I haven't done any maintenance on them recently. But I can say that NFS for lathe maintenance is amazing. Jeff just disassembled and rebuilt our three-jaw chuck and it is now WAY better than new. And I'd think the application is similar. But since I suspect that you aren't mounting your firearms down on your right chain stay for those rain rides, you may want to consider the Silca version. It is a bit lighter and a tad slicker. It just doesn't hold up to water and dirt as well. My 0.02.

Jason, it would be fine for that BUT I do love EEXOX and have been using that for like forever. Since I've got a can of that I've never thought to try NFS. Bottomline, I'd go with something made for firearms and highly recommended for that. I've got zero issues with it being on a gun for storage all that said.

Spring cleaning for the Hampsten single speed. This might get ridden tomorrow. I've ridden all my bikes this year except this one and it's time. And it was dirty.
A bit of NFS love on the chain and threaded Paul Components chain tension adjusters. Riding in the rain can be very destructive if you don't keep threaded stuff oiled. A drop here and there does the trick.
Dewd, lovely pic. and totally appreciate you working that bottle to it's logical conclusion OMG that is ancient. IIRC I had not even produced sample sized labels yet so I cut a regular one in half!!!
Well play.

Any experience with the Race Grease and Chris King BBs? I've just put some NFS in my rear R45--a bit deeper&smoother sounding, which is great.
