I looked for a power curve to see how well-behaved (or poorly-behaved) it will be, but wasn't sure if what I found was for the V4, so I didn't post them.

I don't think the 4 cylinder part is a deal breaker for most Ducati fans.....the Desmosedici RR was viewed very favorably when it came out.

This new V4 though...it does nothing for me. I'm not a fan of the Panigale styling and frankly Ducati really hasn't made anything that interests me since the 1st gen Multistrada or the short lived SportClassic series.

Between the 45 degree cylinder head sitting under your crotch and the exhaust pipes i'm sure it will be a real pleasure on a summer's day in leathers out on the track.......

I bet it's a monster for what it's intended and I hope that it is a success for Ducati. That space and segment of bike is just littered with insane machines.

If I were buying a bike in that class with my hard in green backs I'd look no further than the Aprilla.

What are those going for these days? Full Ohlins suspension, yes?
I had one of these. It scared the shit out of me when we did an 80mph accidental wheelie topping a roller. I figured I'd probably die if I kept it so I swapped it for a hypermotard. I'm still alive. But best of luck with it and be careful.

Nice find! Can't say as though I'd want to street ride it much but I'd track the hell out of it.

Makes me want to keep my eyes peeled for a 1198S to be prepped as a "track day only" machine.

Sears Point is, unfortunately, way too close.

here's my SuperSport S. I just took the stupid license plate holder thing off and it looks alot better. I'm going to raise the forks a tiny bit, put some lower clip-ons on it- and this thing will then be perfect in every way!

Craig, I think the Super Sports have always been better street bikes.

My '95 900SP was an awesome machine. Loved that bike alway the way until the end when it ended up in a ditch and me tossed far from it. Which, it what eventually got me to the track.

If I were doing it, I'd probably just go with one of the liquid-cooled 939s, but if this thing is a deal, it would be great too.

They aren't the fastest or the 'latest and greatest' but I agree....they are near perfection IMO. I've owned this one since 2005....
