If you are looking for miles to do recovery rides, I recommend the ZBR rides. 1.2 - 1.7 and they almost always stay at that pace. They sometimes do short sprints at the end, but you are there to recover, so it doesn't matter.

Road to Ruins 2 laps.
Pace = 1.5 to 2.5 on hills.
Add NFS or VSalon to your name for easy recognition
*There is a Zwift scheduled group ride at the same time / route. We might get tangled into that and that's ok.

The insider is useful. I would have never paid attention to the guest world otherwise. Yesterday I did a ride in London (guest) and it was pretty much a solo affair other than catching a few and getting passed by some guy holding 4.5. Not sure I like the isolated ride, I think I prefer the crowded route so I can pick off riders on hard days and sit on easy ones. I slacked on my Zwift today and rode outside. I'll get back on it tomorrow afternoon.

Based on a hunch that a previous comment (here) held merit I joined a recovery level group ride this morning and it did not suk. Zwift has somehow managed to herd cats. The pace was steady and the group did not surge much at all. There was a reasonable push on hills but nothing outside what I'd do on my own recovery days. It worked...I'm shocked.

What are you guys using to access Zwift? I use an iPad that my employer gives to all members of my employee group. This is sanctioned by the company so I'm not worried about it.
I was able to update Zwift on my iPhone but on the iPad it isn't showing the latest update as available. Anyone else have this? Or I wonder if my employer slows down access to updates for outside apps.
I just stream Zwift on my iPad and other than being kind of small, it's fine for my current situation. But I can't yet change worlds and I'd like to be able to do that, mostly so I can stay inside Watopia, which I prefer over the other locales.

Lately it seems less people are riding outdoors come winter and everyone is simply staying cooped up in their pain cave. I get that a trainer can be a useful addition but feel like we're losing something -Mike G
Not really. I live in the upper Midwest. Riding in the winter outdoors is not really possible unless I buy a fat bike (less than zero interest) and invest a lot of money in expensive winter clothing I don’t really want.
Having a quality trainer and now Zwift has opened up new options.

This morning I ended up on the epic KOM in Watopia. Cool stuff, nice scenery to the top with snow and shit. That climb took a long while ! It turns out that few people were on it too. At the bottom I see a guy 2:00min ahead of me, it becomes the goal to catch him, which only happened 500m from the summit. Point of all of this is to stay on longer and it seems to work. 1h35min on the trainer this morning, this must be a record for me.

Mountain 8 for instance includes the epic climb to the radio tower you mentioned.
