Looks similar to my grandfather's seamaster:




Bumper automatic, I think it's a cal 354 or 351, looks like a 2767, unsure.

Dig through here and look for yours.

If you open it you'll get the calibre, case, serial and any scratchings from prior servicing, but you can get really close on model/calibre from looking through the heritage website and google image searching. I'd let a watchmaker do that though, ideally you can find a competent one that can service/repair them.

No question a natural progression from my Seamaster. I lust for a number of watches line the Sinn but they are just a way to waste time until I come back to a Speedy.

Now if I could just manage to wear out my Seamaster ;)

Have handled in the store. Surprisingly lightweight, I guess that ceramic is pretty aerospace. Love the watch, is definitely premium priced. The strap is just fine, but for the price, I think is not up to par - it needs a sweet clasp like on a seamaster, not a buckle with cheapo-looking rubber reinforcements in the receiving end of the strap. Don't get me wrong, I am still in lust, but we have high standards here on VSalon!

If you want VSalon level clasps you need to move across the aisle to Rolex. Don't get me wrong, I love Omega and the Speedy in particular. But Rolex clasps are at another level.

Dark Side underwhelmed me in store. Much more impressed with the 15k Gauss. I think it was the ceramic case, of all things. I went in expecting black. Like, piano black. Was kinda bummed. Bummed enough to knock it down a few perches on my "want list".

This, however, is killer.

Here's a pic of my moon watch that my Father bought new in oh '69 or '70 and used everyday until he passed on in 2010 and with the exception of a month long rebuild at Feldmar it's beed on my wrist ever since and will go to my son after me.

As long as we are talking Speedmaster. I might have jumped a barbed wire fence and possibly caught the SS Seamaster bracelet and roasted it badly. Never mind the skin rash, the bracelet is badly damaged.

Does anyone have insight who might be able to rehab the bracelet. The links are good but I suspect 1/3 or more of the tubes are misshaped.

Just do a search "Michael Young bracelet repair" and you'll get plenty of hits.

Pretty sure he'll do any and all high end watches. GL

Not crazy. I'll contact the man. My bracelet is in sad shape.
