Has anyone had any success with the < $15 silicone rubber + deployant straps? (available in a number of places online)

I'm primarily concerned about the deployant itself, and can imagine a super-cheap one as being a potential POC. However, sometimes stuff like that works perfectly well for years and years.

For example, the strap shown below is $6, so I really have to wonder.

My watch has 24mm lugs which seems to have a smaller range of color options. iLife that one middle left with the narrow orange stripe.

I got it from Gnomon Watch in Singapore. Looks like they ship airmail for free, but I bought it in store when I was over there. They have a bunch of color options (shiny, matte, and black) on most of their straps. FWIW, I think the Maratac straps are of a higher quality, but both are fine.

Zombie thread revival...I just got a couple straps from Bulang and Sons and I'm very happy with them. This, IMO, is the strap that Tudor should be including from the start on the Black Bay. It's a dark brown and burgundy leather strap with a tang buckle. I ordered the straps this weekend and they showed up yesterday. From Europe. That's unexpectedly fast.

The inside and outside of the strap are the same. As in the strap is made of two identical halves folded in half and sewn together. It does have a shell cordovan-ish tone to it, but the texture is much less refined. More casual. It really is a perfect fit for the red bezel black bay.

The revival of this thread reminds me I need another NATO strap or two. I have some that are getting pretty grotty.

judging by the pants and cuff, i'm guessing south florida places the emphases on the casual half of business casual.

i've personally been on a canvas strap kick this summer. so great for divers that get wet often.

This is true. But beyond that I work in web development at a software company. By having long sleeves I'm pretty much overdressed for my team.

In 2011 I showed off a Maratac Elite Series two piece strap. Sheesh it fell apart. Since my Seamaster is out for the next two months getting the spa treatment from RGM I've been wearing Jason Musgrave's old Seiko which is one he!! of a nice thing thanks buddy.

It would be poor form to gripe about something that old falling apart so I won't. That was a classy watchband.

The only fallback I had on hand was a lowly (haha) Maratack Nato in drab Olive. Poor me.

In my experience most NATO straps clean up very nicely with a hand-wash using dish soap. If they're particularly dirty let them soak a while first.

Been meaning to post this for a while. Nick at Home | Catalyst Leatherworks

made it for my Stowa, and I love how it turned out. I had a hard time finding the right brown, but the Horween Dublin Brown Nut was just right. (In person it's a lot darker than it appears to be in the image - at least on my monitor.)

Nick was super-easy to work with (we went back-and-forth on it for quite as while as I was trying to find the right shade) and I'd definitely recommend him if you're looking for a custom leather strap.

The image below shows a buckle, but I've since removed that and now have it on a black PVD Hadley-Roma butterfly deployant clasp.
