No class for me this week so I can ride if this is still happening.
Hank, check here each week however you can assume the ride will happen regardless until we call it quits sometime in March.

I thought I saw a message, that was you?! Thanks. I was doing The Pretzel...ouch. The game keeps getting better. We were early adopters with Computrainer two lifetimes ago and even with the many improved iterations it never came remotely close to this. Riding 2 hrs. on the trainer is still miserable but hey it's what I need to do ;)

Yeah, Pretzel.
And yes - trainer still sucks, but not enough snow yet, just cold - and zwift makes it more bearable.
After I saw you I tried to hang with local mate Mike B, - but he was doing his "power hour" (avg 366 watts) - and even on my best day I am no close to that. So I zoned out and listened to Leonard Cohen for a bit.
8" of snow so far, no run outside today.
Via Zwift, we got out to ride London / flat for an hour today. Working on getting D's setup happy. Few bugs to work out there yet.
iOS via bluetooth he was often riding alone or not moving. Swapped to Ant+ on the laptop and put it really close and that seemed to resolve things. Still need to sort out the iOS app version that released Saturday.
I found that unless my dongle is within a foot or so to the trainer, it keeps dropping the signal. I just got an extension cord for it. The WiFi connection to my phone / Android App seems to be dead stable and somewhat more responsive with Zwift than Zwift is with the Kicker via the Ant+ dongle. No big deal, but the Kicker seems to be always about three seconds behind "virtual reality." I did try communicating via Bluetooth and that only worked reliably during firmware upgrading and the initial spin-down calibration likely because my phone was about a meter away from the kicker.

Garmin dongle? I suspect the dongle. I'm using some generic Garmin dongle that came with a running watch and my ipad picks it up 20 ft. away...not that makes you feel any better.

I'm using the the Suunto dongle - works a treat. Laptop is 5 ft from the power Meyer.
Picked up an extension cord for his Garmin ANT+ chip so it can be closer to the KICKR. The Suunto one I've been using has been great.
Want to give the iPad & bluetooth another go but will reserve that for a solo ride.
Tom what happens when you ditch ant and only use Wahoo for power?

I'm using the Ant+ dongle to communicate between the Wahoo Kicker and Zwift. I only use the Bluetooth between my phone and the Kicker for calibration, firmware upgrades and if I am doing something Wahoo specific like directly controlling the trainer without Zwift. Since my laptop doesn't have Bluetooth, I have to use Ant+ with Zwift anyway. The other advantage with using Ant+ is that it not only picks up the Kicker, but also reads my heart rate monitor and cadence from my cranks. In the Zwift pairing screen I can see which devices are being used for each data stream. If I wanted to, I could use my cranks for reading power output, but I figure that I may as well use the Kicker for that since it is being used for speed and resistance as well anyway.
So in direct answer to your question ... I can't ditch Ant+ if I want to use Zwift. I can however if I just want to use the Wahoo App to do one of their workouts or an FTP test or some such. For that sort of thing, Bluetooth seems to work without a hitch. Helps?

Remember to shower kindness to the lightweights on the descents.
Tom was a real champ sitting up and then towing me back a couple times last week. Reinforces that this virtual ride shares much with a real ride. One that's only going to happen in a virtual world is when I get a polka dot jersey.
