I'd want a good 8 to 9 yrs. from it. No bueno? If it helps the 2014s will sell a diesel and I'd buy that new in the limited format. I don't really need stitched leather dashboards or airbags ;)

I keep telling him this. He's also looking at SUV's designed for a family of four which will be driven around by one (1) person most of the time, which I don't get, but hey, whatever makes the Tall guy happy :)

Those Escapes are great little SUV's; just don't make me sit in the back of an Escape NYC taxi again, FOUR wide in the back, with TT, SigJus, and D-Ct. Holy claustrophobia attack. I love the move to the hybrid taxis, but there is no room in the back seat of those things once you install the partition.

My worry would be that it's a Chrysler product. I'm sure TT knows better and just had a moment of weakness.

Ban me now, but for two people, a dog or two, and gear, I can't get this out of my head:

It's so un-trendy that I think it's come full circle to being baller again.

The cts-v wagon gives me semichub.

Toots - look at the Toyota Land Cruiser (or lexus equivalent) or just for fun, the Ford Flex.

Oh fuck yes on the CTS-V wagon. Between that and SRT were showing we can build cars again.

TT - I'm in the same situation. Looking for an SUV, drove the Grand Cherokee and it was a really impressive truck. I'm (trying) to wait for the diesel because the 28 mpg highway is impressive and kills the mpg of my car even. I've never been a domestic car guy, but I have a buddy and Jeeps are all he's owned. Loves them and doesn't have any real horror stories around reliability. Based on that, I might give it a shot.

Test-drove a mid-range Flex the other day. Surprisingly fun. Kids enjoyed the back seat (and all three can fit in the second row, leaving lots of space in the rear).

If I can find a good deal on one with the options I need/want, I may bite. Any other opinions on this?

Is that what we sound like to non-bike folks when describing the latest uber bike? Despite the commentator, that video makes me want to drive that car on my next road trip to the mountains.

I'd give a pinky finger for a full on land cruiser.

Ouch, I recall seeing the Cadillac Hammer video sometime back. I believe they even added electric cutouts just to scare the little kids at stoplights baller for sure.

Every Flex owner that I know (4 or 5?) absolutely love(s) it. My sister has one with the twin turbo and it's damn fast and pulls their 23' MasterCraft around northern Michigan just fine (tow rating be damned - but we devise those in Laughlin, NV or Silverthorne, CO - both of which are far more severe than anything you'll find in Michigan). The captains chairs are are also recliner-like in their comfort.

Then there are the looks. Tolerate them or hate them seem to be the range.
