How often does this happen outside of the United States?

According to this 2018 report from the EASA…every 3 hours in Europe there is an unruly passenger incident, resulting in 1 diverted landing per month…and these are pre-Covid stats. The FAA stats are easier to find and current, though not real encouraging.

It was crazy here yesterday.

The wind gust hit 122mph which is a new record according to the MET.

Fun fact- the previous record wind gust was from the storm in 1987. If you ever read Liar's Poker, that's the storm that hit the day before Salomon Brothers planned a head count reduction.
Trees disrupted rail service everywhere and many employees could not get to the office. So in gung-ho American Wall Street fashion, Solly dispatched cars to ferry people in just so they could be RIFFED.

Did the Vegas-BWI non-stop round trip last weekend to visit my son. On the return leg there was a passenger arguing about wearing a mask. This same guy had to be asked to put his mask on at the gate. It wasn't pulled down around his chin, it was in his shirt pocket. The flight attendant made an announcement to remind us all that failure to wear a mask would be dealt with by TSA at the arrival gate. I guess that got his attention, but after all the youtube videos and news stories, why would a person think it would ever work out in their favor?
