Well, despite that it was a feel good moment, and Joni made a courageous appearance and performed well, using an electric was just going too far, atmo. (Especially a Parker Fly. Should have at least used a Gibson L5 and claimed she thought she was at the Jazz Festival).
And Dylan got what he deserved.

i've gained a new appreciation for Blondie's Eat To The Beat Album. So good. This and Parallel lines are my favorite two albums from Blondie and still fresh after all these years
I like Deborah Harry’s look and energy in this vid.

Went to see these guys last night. Took my 92 year old mother in law, her side gig when she wasn't a math prof was the semi-pro singing in church and local opera / classical music operations. They'd been at the park concert series years ago, that show was a lot more light hearted than last night. We sat in the rain, thunderstorms all around, but as the series organizer pointed out, if they can withstand a war we can withstand a little rain. Very intense, my mother in law thought they were great. The wry humor - introducing a song they wrote in their free time "before the big war. Here's a song written in Happy Covid Time."
They did this one toward the end of the show.

RIP. I was not a big fan, but I liked her cover of this Dylan/Harrison tune.
Edit: I thought it was a co-write, but Dylan is the sole credited writer.

Interesting. Olivia Newton-John videos have suddenly become “not available” on YT.
In any case, the song is If Not For You, which Dylan and Harrison both recorded shortly before ONJ did her cover.

Perhaps you might help me interpret the lyrics to "Lovely to See You" by the Moody Blues.
Wonderful day, for passing my way
Knock on my door and even the score with your eyes....
Lovely to see you again my friend
Walk along with me to the next bend
Dark cloud of fear is blowing away
Now that you're here, you're going to stay, 'cause it's
Lovely to see you again my friend
Walk along with me to the next bend
Tell us what you've seen
In far away forgotten lands
Where empires have turned back to sand
Wonderful day for passing my way
Knock on my door, and even the score with your eyes..
Lovely to see you again my friend
Walk along with me to the next bend...
This line in particular is what I am interested in,
"Knock on my door, and even the score with your eyes.."
Does even the score have to be taken in the negative, as in getting even?
That's not my take, but it is the take of a couple friends.
Thanks much if you offer your interpretation.

Came across this the other day.
Edit: Darn playback unavailable. It’s John McLaughlin’s set from Montreux 2022. 95 minutes, nice.

Saw the Steep Canyon Rangers in the free series at the park Sunday. Was prepared to leave early because I had heard them with Steve Martin and Eddie Brickell on the radio and absolutely hated it. "When you get to Asheville..." I'm gonna jam knitting needles in my ears to make it stop.
After the first song I turned to Karen and said this is going to be a lot better than I expected. Currently the best show of the year contender for sure.
Last night the free series was a couple sets by Felicia Collins and her band the Variant, some step, some gospel and a screening of the documentary Summer of Soul directed by a fellow named Questlove.
Felicia Collins was in the CBS band on David Letterman's show for many years then I guess for at least a little while with George Clinton's band. She's really a very good guitarist. From Albany's Arbor Hill neighborhood, it was really cool the first time she played the series when between songs she'd be pointing to people from the neighborhood, asking how their mom was and so on. We missed her first set, we drove back from visiting Longwood Gardens and didn't get over there early enough.
I highly recommend the Summer of Soul movie. Really well done, and gave me a lot to think about. I think it is on Netflix. Very much filled in some info on people like John Lindsay, different perspective on the moon landing and some artists that all I've heard was the radio versions and I knew Nina Simone was great but not how great. My word.
More John McLaughlin, this from 1977:
