As usual, Peter Gabriel's studio recordings reward attentive listening...and with his latest single (first recording of new original music in 20 years!) he offers even more ear candy by releasing two different mixes, one by Tchad Blake and one by Spike Stent:

First new work in > 20 years.
She just won a Grammy. It's easy to hear why:
The cover art, the sleeve art, this song. At 11 years old, I was in.
Drank a cup of coffee couple hours south of the place I used to run around
when I was too young to really know,
the difference in love and longing for it, when to shut up and when to stay with it,
and how to forgive and just let go,
‘Cause this is, the greatest day of my life,
if I move or close my eyes, it’ll be gone and so will I,
so come on in and stay awhile,
years are just moments in a great big pile,
and she’s there laughing on the porch swing of my mind,
and I’m just grateful to be here at closing time

Willie Dixon was perhaps the best songwriter there ever was.
Another giant lost; RIP Wayne Shorter :(
As I mentioned in another forum earlier today, when I was a teenager in the 1970s I only knew of Wayne's work in Weather Report. But I remember very early in my freshman year of college being in the school bookstore and hearing two guys arguing vehemently over whose 1960s recordings were better, John Coltrane's or Wayne Shorter's. Figured then and there that I needed to check out Shorter's earlier work.
Talk about a rabbit hole!
