Pt2.
I'm working from home today and the Mrs Vert decided when she got home from work that we should start the weekend with the literal fruit of my labor. Garden fresh Rosso Scillian Tomato and a little fresh Basil and fresh Mozz.

Just hit the Zocalo in Mexico city, what a beautiful place.
Not sure if this should be a grump or a suck it, but I'm late either way. Found out yesterday I need surgery on my shoulder. I'm stoked and relieved, getting it done next Thursday, scope with minimal recovery time per the doc. Let's do this.
75 and sunny with not a cloud in the sky. It's all about the simple pleasures.
My 6 year old's first league/tournament futsal game is tonight.
Good friends from Columbus are coming to visit for the weekend.

Similar gratefulness, my U9 son just wrapped up soccer season but was just invited to play in a tournament for a team one division above ours. They held a practice last eve and he shined. Asked me for a Ronaldo faux-hawk haircut after practice. It'll pass until I perfect it. His current team is good and diverse but some of the parents fail at managing to remember getting their kid to practice and games - not fair to the coach or the kids that show. I feel like his agent making these moves to get him out there in front of other coaches, but the kid loves to play -- and the more he plays the more leverage we have as parents to use these things he enjoys as motivators to keep grades and chores up.
Corn Beef King food truck...hello gorgeous.
Yes I did.

Rough couple weeks here on the homestead-
Had a touch-and-go meeting with a client today that went well (heard back that they'd selected my design over some others),
sunny & warm weekend here - better start putting more than 0 miles a week on the bike - in view of the 110 miler coming up shortly.
Missed the start of a meeting I wanted to be in.
Walked back outside to see 2 food trucks: Yummy Biscuit, Motofish Coffee.
All better.

It's early morning and the birds are chirping. We are solidly into May and we can still comfortably sleep with the windows open. The house will be hopping soon with kids and school. These are life sounds, family sounds, sounds of privledge and blessings. Tonight we have friends coming for the night and we will have some drinks and share some laughs.. All of the above is why the grumps can suck it.
