This has become one of our go-to weeknight dinners 'cause it's so easy and hands-off to make. Tandoori chicken, jasmine rice, roasted veggies, broccoli this time. Chicken is cooked in the sous vide, rice in the instant pot. Reasonably healthy and super tasty.

Good Afternoon - I commute often between London and Austria. I have all the basics, pasta, rice, herbs, spices, garlic, butter, seasoning stuff etc in both places. I sometimes arrive late, but have left something simple (like spag bol) pre-prepared in the freezer. I wonder if anyone has any simple other tasty ideas of things that you can pre-cook, freeze and then you have something to look forward to and quick on arrival. I appreciate this is not haute cuisine. thank you.

Samfarina Paella: Chicken, peppers and eggplant. First Paella i have made in a long time. A bit more inconsistent rice doneness than I would have wanted but not bad for the rusty technique... The richness of a good slug of saffron really makes it sing...

We had TriTip again last night. It's so good!!! We cut them in half the day we buy them, cook one half and freeze the other half. Sous vide for a little over an hour at 135*F, then flame seared on the kettle. Roasted fingerling potatoes and steamed veggies on the side.

For Mike...number 2 son is home from his first year at school, so Mrs. RW is working on fattening him up for the Summer...college cafeteria food hasn't been too kind to him.

Alas no! I never started again after dropping out of a class due to cutting my hand badly at a summer job before my first year of college...

Dinner plates are from Burlington Pottery and the oil plate is from France...

Camping. One can't entirely enjoy the rain unless you are truly in it...

Premade kabobs + your own seasoning = easy weeknight grill out. Beef, peppers, onion, and a mushroom on each skewer (bought at the local Publix), dusted with Meat Church's Holy Cow rub.

Dad/daughter dinner last evening in Belltown. Pasta with her sauce made of fresh tomatoes, carrots, onions, celery and some other goodies, with cooked sausage and freshly grated Romano added for pizzazz. She takes after her Mother in the cooking department and I enjoy the results. I of course supply the cured meats, cheese and vino.

my dutch friend and his lovely wife came round and we used up the last of the asparagus and and garlic, plus onion made into a creamy soup, some flour, quite spicy, with stale croutons sauteed with the really nice olive oil, did a small amount of pasta too, just threw it in the soup and simmered, croutons are a guilty secret but they turn soup into a hearty meal, lobbed it all together at the last minute sadly 2 pans needed. regards.

When your wife brings home mushrooms from Union Sq Market you go across the street and get some real Italian Asiago and fresh peas to make some risotto...

Unfortunately did not live up to potential because the mushroom ratio was too light in the mix so she knows now that there is no such thing as too much mushroom. And we didn’t have any home made stock so I had to use some Knorr bouillion cubes I found in the back of the cupboard. Aside from Knorr’s use of palm oil and all the bad it does for the environment and orangutans and so on, the salt content in that stuff is crazy extreme and was even more of a reason not to ever use it again even in case of emergency.

That said, it beat the alternative of just ordering in some random food via Seamless which was the only other option given we are packing things up to move further U on the ES.

Given that it was such a beautiful day, we decided that there was no reason to wait for the weekend to make it a steak-frites night at the homestead. A side trip to the butcher and farmer’s market on the way home sealed the deal and the asparagus was just as good as the filet.

I typically get home from riding or boot camp class around 7:30pm. I typically put a cup of yogurt in a bowl and dump granola on it. It's just me, I'll be fine.
