This is going to be the year I finally update my larger camera rig for events and race shooting. I'm eager to be shooting on a Fuji again and will pick up the X-T2 soon. Will start with the 35mm F2 and then maybe go

I've always wanted a long 2.8 telephoto, but the Fuji 50-140 is ludicrously expensive and I tend to shoot from a wide to normal perspective for documentary style anyway, so I'm not sure how much use it would actually get.

Buy wides and normals, rent telephotos. Not sure how many places where you are rent Fuji telephotos though.

You could also go Sony A7II. That gets you a full frame and access to Canon lenses with the Metabones EF adapter. It supposedly works very well with Sony/Canon combos, even in the telephotos. Canon lenses are far more frequently available as rentals than any other brand. The Canon EF 200mm f2.8 L lens gets good marks and with the full frame, you have plenty of space to crop.

Good point on rentals. The local shop only has the slower 55-200 3.5-4.6, but again, my shooting doesn't call for telephoto that often.

I think my ideal kit would end up being the equivalents of 15-35mm F4, 50mm F2, and maybe the 85mm F1.2. So many things. So little money.

I'm waiting on the Fuji X-T20 announcement on January 19th before I make my final decision as well, but looks like I'll be ditching my SLR for a mirrorless camera this year also. I'm currently leaning towards the Canon m5, actually.

Randomly jonesing lately for a cantilever braked cyclocross bike. Doesn't fit in my stable at the moment, given my need/preference for discs for my commute. Not sure if 2017 is the year I can justify racing a full cx season again or if it'll be further into the future.

Wanted one so bad when they came out. Now I'm trying to hunt down one that isn't complete junk.
