So who says little people can't ride big tires? Very nice Mr. Garro. Going to get serious mud stripe with that one.

I knew that Steve built me a great bike in the Disc Dirt Road Racer in Denise Blue, but today I gained a more full appreciation of it when I put the gravel wheels on and rode from the WeKoPa Resort in Ft McDowell up to Rio Verde Road and dropped into McDowell Mountain Park from the top. I did some climbing on Pemberton Trail and then bombed back down on single track to the entrance. The 35mm Gravel Kings gave up a little, but two skidding is an art and I was very polished by the time I got off the trail. I was in the drops, chest as low the top tube as I could, elbows bent, and passing MTB's. The most intuitive bike I've ever ridden off road.

I now know what my next mountain bike will be!
Ride review:

A few comments about the Sedona ride. I started at the bottom and had a fair little climb. A few little grunts. The bike just hooks up on the climbs. There are a number for shale step-ups and between the tires and the BB clearance, and the bike geometry, they were no problem. I realized later that I never worried about pedal strikes because of a low BB. Nice. There were a few areas on descending where there were marble sized loose gravel, off chamber that were no problem. Another nice feature of this trail was that there were plenty of sharp uphill switchbacks. Again the balance of the bike was superb. In or out of the saddle, just pick the right gear and pedal up. Mid-switchback a feature would revel itself, a rut, a stairstep, some rubble, no problem. Up or down, the bike just did fine. For a new bike on an unridden trail, I couldn't be happier with the bike. Looking forward to many many fun hours. Thanks Steve Garro!!!

Any 29+ in the portfolio?
The last couple of 27.5 rigs for shorter folks look HOT.
thinking dreaming thinking
IMG_3853.JPGIMG_3198.jpgI've done I think 5-6 29+ bikes, I'd have to dig into my pics to see one I've done since 27.5" came out, but pretty much all my clients who have an inseam of under 33" or so traded suspension travel for wheel size, as one has to give to achieve proper standover.
The last one I did, which looks proper, was for a guy 6'7"
OTOH, here is a guy next to his 27.5" who has a 28" inseam
