Big fan of Waxahatchee. Hope to see them this fall in VA.
Been on a deep dub kick lately, picking up some old Lee Perry/Upsetters/Wailers etc on vinyl. Good way to kick off the weekend.

Every season I implore my soccer team to do no coach’s gifts, and they ignore me. Credit to my wife for shifting them away from local beer/bar cards to the CD Cellar. Had a few piling up and spent some time there today. Even got $4 cash back to boot!
Fam is away this weekend and I have moved all our connected speakers to the family room. Records will be played loudly tonight.

Thanks to youtube's auto-sugestion algorithm, I spent all of last night going down the rabbit hole of live performances by L'Ensemble Intercontemporain under the baton of Matthias Pintscher. Highlights included:
Jonathan Harvey's "Towards A Pure Land"
Karlheinz Stockhausen's "Gruppen"
Frank Zappa's "Naval Aviation In Art?" and "Dupree's Paradise"
The algorithm sends Bob an orchestra and sends me a bunch if kids doing a killer Head East cover. Good job, algorithm?

I listen to rock music when we take an auto trip because it keeps me alert.
Heard this the other day, new music from Nervous Eaters. 😄

New Sturgill Simpson album came out over the weekend, it's a good time.
I'm also REALLY into these guys lately. They have a new album coming out in another week or so.

Why do people feel the need to list all of their bikes in their signature?
I've given the new Sturgill about 1.5 listens so far and it feels a little boring. I love everything he's done, so I'm sure this one will grow on me.
I just swapped my Jason Isbell tickets in favor of Blues Traveler, so I've been playing them a bit recently. Saw them a few times back in the day, but probably not in over 25 years.

This is good. IMO of course.
47 years after we first saw The Boss in the gym at St. Vincent's College, he was back in town last evening and he'll be here on Sunday night as well. My wife and sister still haven't come down to earth and I told them that it must be difficult to be a 74 year old rocker gazing into an audience of 60 and 70 year old groupies like them...the man still rocks the house.

Jealous, RW!!!
I'm going to see Blues Traveler next week, for the first time in 25+ years.
