GO!
Poor Cleveland..
There is something about Lydia Lunch's voice that really resonates with me. It's like the ultimate eff-you to everything fake and formulaic.

The leaves are dead
The door is closed
The garbage screams at my feet
I just want to be alone
The sand is washed away
The sea it must've ate it
The cement glows grey
And I begin to like it
The dishes are cracked
The forks are plastic
The food is in cellophane
And I puke elastic

I really like the girls voice in the jezabels, definitely different.
your moment of zen
ok, just kidding, but I do like this one
I see one of two possibilities:
- Japanese society just fundamentally misunderstands American culture, resulting in these bizarrely off-kilter re-interpretations of western performance.
- Japanese society understands American culture perfectly and is simply trying to destroy us by sowing mass confusion and persistent headaches.
Anyways.
I've always thought Cheri Knight was criminally under-appreciated. Here's the title track from Northeast Kingdom:
GO!
EricKeller, that BABYMETAL number is awesome. Would have gone perfectly with my '79 Honda Accord, ski pole handle for a shift knob and a late night after the parking lot cleared out...

Laura Pleasants of Kylesa was in one of my all time favorite bands, DAMAD.. Not for the faint of heart. If you are into loud, gutteral sludge, this woman kills it.
DAMAD played at our house in the late 90s, when she started screaming my heart felt love.
‘The Earth is not dying, it is being killed, and those that are killing it have names and addresses-‘ Utah Phillips
listen to this gal, if you like beautiful voices like those of a siren, you should just skip this.
‘The Earth is not dying, it is being killed, and those that are killing it have names and addresses-‘ Utah Phillips
I love this woman despite not liking all of her songs. If yer not a fan or haven't time to watch this whole vid, fast forward to about 2:25 and watch her rip it. It's awesome.
you're not the lord of the flies
Some Cincinnati homies.
I was one of four at their show at the Southgate House and felt guilty because I could only buy one LP.
This voice always did it for me:
