Hacksaw Ridge. Very good, can't understand why it took so long for this story to be made into a movie.

My wife and I made a fun little ‘project’ of watching all of Paul Thomas Anderson’s movies:

    Hard Eight
    Boogie Nights
    Magnolia
    Punch-Drunk Love
    There Will Be Blood
    The Master
    Inherent Vice

Nothing not worth your time, but those four - Boogie Nights, Magnolia, There Will Be Blood and The Master... One brilliant achievement after another.

    I'll add a weird one:

Yes, it really is a documentary. My girlfriend and I agree, it's the best thing we've seen in 2016. It's delightfully/terrifyingly bizarre.

It is totally nuts. I highly recommend it. It goes in a completely unexpected direction.

We watched The Take recently. One of those clever European based caper films. Not quite as smart as a LeCarre type movie but still pretty good.

Grace and I thought 'The Words' was meh. Started off well, but fizzled 2/3rds of the way through.

OTOH we both thought 'The Whole Truth' was really enjoyable. :)

Yes, we watched this a couple months ago, talk about not expected, and totally bizarre. Humans are really really weird, like really weird.

"Isle of Dogs" was sold out tonight. On a Tuesday, 45 minutes before curtain.

"Death of Stalin" had already started, we'll try again.

    An embarrassment of riches.

My son & I went to see "Isle of Dogs" on Monday. I thought it was REALLY good, but I'm a Wes Anderson fan so my opinion might be a little biased.

My 11 year old son however has no clue who Wes Anderson is and when it was over I asked him what he thought of the movie. His reaction was:
"We have to get this on DVD as soon as it comes out!"

On the list. I even know someone who enjoyed it but hasn't seen "In the Loop," which I find surprising.

^ I did. Hours of my life I'll never get back. Atrocious.

"Then I drove my DELOREAN to the virtual arcade where I played DONKEY KONG while listening to REO SPEEDWAGON, I was wearing my CONVERSE ALL-STARS and my OAKLEY SUNGLASSES, then I went home and played DESTROYER on my COMMODORE 64..."

Picture about, oh, 250 pages of that.
