New PR on Box Hill today...which leads to me NOT doing a second lap boooooo. I'm saying this out loud to stop myself from blowing up my plan.
Bill Bill Bill Bill, yah can't throw the age card around like that and not expect to get your nutz kicked ;) ha.
Crap weather here for next few days. I'll be on Zwift all afternoons. Swim suit weather is coming.

If you guys ever look at some of the strata records for various sections you will see things like the top 10 people all averaged over 250mph.
I always assume that either people were fooling around or the was a technical glitch.
Either way, can’t get too wrapped up in that.

I saw a 16 minute, 16 mile loop with 1400 feet of climbing. I guess he stayed on the big ring the whole time.
For those keeping score at home, my KICKR quit transmitting speed and power. Wahoo is sending me a new one. I guess it helps that I sent a dissertation about the failure with data tables and other supporting evidence. I had already repaired the clunking issue.
So the 2018 KICKR has two specific issues, the early ones had an issue with the pulley and key assembly, the other issue is an ungrounded power supply that allows a "static electricity" blast to reach the electronics. The second issue seems to be prevalent in dry climates, like the deserts of NW Arizona.

The new one made 4 rides before the pulley issue came up. Saturday morning it started clunking (I could feel it through the pedals) and then the clicking. I knew exactly how to correct it, I was just pissed that they'd send out a unit that didn't have the new hardware. I put it up on the table, took it apart, retorqued everything with a little blue Locktite and got back on the bike later that afternoon with the intention of finishing the hour but ended up doing more because I was pissed. Best ride to date, averaged 197 watts on the Figure 8 course and reset all my personal records on the climbs.
I fired off a pretty terse email at the support folks insisting that they overnight the parts to me, and they did. They're sitting on my porch right now. I'll probably ride it the remainder of the week and then put the new bolt/washer/key in on Saturday.
My new Coconino MTB shipped to Dark Matter Finishing today, I'll be out on the trails by the end of March.

That hurts just reading about it. Chapeau!
I think I'll pick a course and make it my reference, something in Watopia like the figure 8. Through the warmer/longer days when I'm outside, I might do one day a week on Zwift to measure improvements (or not) in fitness. I'm an engineer, I live in data. Plus there's a local event that is a 28 mile time trial with 1000' of climbing (on Rt66). Last year I won my age group by a lot, this year I'd like to take the overall (I was 3rd overall). The guy who won overall has done so for the last 5 years is kind of cocky about it. He needs some schooling. Maybe I'll use my Boyd 60's and aero bars this time.

Been getting back on the bike and with the endless ice and rain it's been inside. Using Zwift + Discord with some local riders. It's a lot like our outside rides but we can hear each other. The addition of Create Meetup combined with Discord has been a real plus. Could set up a NFS channel ; )
I bought Jeff's Lynskey so I'll be leaving the Ti Fierte on the Wahoo year round.

I bought a Beelink fanless desktop CPU that has 4 USB and 2 HDMI ports plus wifi. I've got it fed into my smart TV, loaded with Zwift and Google Chrome (MS Windows 10 OS), ANT adapter and wireless keyboard/mouse in the USB's, and connected up to my home wifi. I tried it out last night and the 4K video from the Beelink gives an outstanding full screen display on my big TV. I just leave it set up now. Total cost, $170.

Yesterday's post trainer ride conversation with my wife.
Her: How was your workout?
Me: It was good. I ended up joining Josh for a while.
Her: What did you guys talk about?
Me: Nothing. We don't talk. Just ride together.
Her: [blank stare]
Me: It help pass the time as you weave around other people and the course because you are riding with someone.
Her: [blank stare]

I mute the TV and don't use the companion app. I see the conversation boxes and what people are saying, it gets pretty entertaining sometimes. Like the 2.0-2.5 rides and someone is doing 2.6 and the leader puts them in line. This morning a couple of guys were talking about their 9W/kg effort (sustained) on a climb. L*nce climbed at 7W/kg. Good stuff, hard to explain to others.

My conversations with Brian during Zwift (torture) consist of "I need a 5 min break so I can go heave my guts"...be right back.
As virtually weird as Zwift is, riding with someone like Brian who did his share of racing makes the game alot more fun.
Now if I could manage to hold back some I'd actually be able to tempo a couple hrs. straight thru.
