I whole-ass Parks and Rec. It's like The Office (which I love) but a step better.

The thing with my watching all of these foreign language shows is that I actually watch TV now ( you have to to read the sub titles) as opposed to just having it on as background noise.
It seems the original from which Homeland was adapted is better.. an israeli production w/the same tale. I liked Homeland: very good acting and pace.
    slow.

    Not one mention of Zombies?

Season 7 of Walking Dead is on. The first episode is chilling, brace yourself.

We watched walking dead. Until someone had a pet tiger, at which point I was like "I'm out!"

Started Ozark last night and the first episode was good enough to bring me back for more. Hopefully Irma will let me.

The tiger was too much? I'm surprised you lasted 6+ seasons. The horrible tactics kill me but I keep watching.

I love the show The Goldbergs, a funny show about growing up in the eighties, conveniently right near where I grew up.
The Tick - The 2000 version with David Putty/Patrick Warburton is hilarious spoof on superhero stuff.
The Tick - 2017 - Still good, but not as good times comedy as the earlier
Curb Your Enthusiasm - say no more
The Brink - Political comedy with Jack Black.

I thought me and my brother were the only ones that watched the old Tick. I couldn't get into the new Tick. It's the guy's voice.

Just started Ozark last night. I'm in!

Twin Peaks man.... That show is seriously great. First two season from the 90's were awesome. Then we watched the movie. Then the reboot with Showtime. The Showtime series was totally off the deep end but was so good. It is slow.. but definitely great.

We just started the Netflix series 'Chefs Table'. It's cool, but, it's always important to keep perspective. Episode 2 is about the chef at this place. The show is all about his commitment to farm to table, sustainable farming, ethical livestock treatment, we're-gonna-save-the-world kinda stuff. Which is great. But one scene shows a dinner at the farm restaurant, and it's beautiful, and I'm thinking 'just how much does it cost to eat here?'. Quick Google search - $258 a head. Wine pairings are an additional $168 per person. And on top of that, there's a 20% 'administrative fee' added to your bill. So it really cost $310 a person, plus another $200 for wine.

His place in NYC is a lot cheaper, only about $100/person. Attire is 'elegant casual' to which my wife replied "whatever the hell that means."

Looking forward to the rest of the series!

Did I endorse The Patriot (on Amazon Prime) yet?

It's curing me of my multi-tasking problem because I have to catch the details. The story is sharp. Kurtwood Smith is great at playing the pissed off guy.

Season 2 of Berlin Station is underway. It's not as well written as Endeavor...my personal benchmark for scripting, casting and acting...but I finished season 1 a while back and enjoyed it enough to come back for season 2.

Too funny—my wife and I ate at Blue Hill just a couple of weekends ago. I received a gift certificate for $400 back in February, but it took us until October to get a reservation. Had no idea what to expect. The total ended up being a little over $800 for the two of us (we didn't go for the wine pairing, just three glasses of wine, or it would've been more). The meal lasted 3.5 hours, and consisted of probably 50 - 60 plates, depending on how you count. It is a bit like Michael Pollan meets the Hunger Games...

I am surprised no mention of Justified. I thought it was awesome.

Netflix notified me that Louie is leaving at the end of October, so I've been bingeing on it. Mostly hilarious, occasionally boring, and sometimes brilliant.

And give me as much Pamela Adlon as possible, please!
    GO!

    Happy,
you left out the most important part...was it any good. Worth the money is a far deeper question.

    Mike beat me to it!

Question 1 - How was it?

Question 2 - Would you go again, or recommend it to friends, assuming there are no gift cards in play?

I've never had a meal that expensive. Most I've ever paid for a meal was about $150 a head (while on our honeymoon), and while it was good, and 'an experience', I wouldn't do it again.

I've also had plenty of expensive meals ($50/head or so) that weren't good, much less worth the money.
