I have a few movado's and a hamilton. But the watch I wear the most is the classic field watch.

My favorite watch is my Festina TDF edition. It is stainless with carbon inserts and a faux chain link over the stem. It weighs about a pound, thankfully the carbon inserts save a little weight.

I would, but I've got to say that I fit more into the "appreciates a nice watch" camp more than the "addicted to nice watches" camp :)

I love my hamilton khaki auto.

Came with a metal strap. Cool looking movement. Keeps time well. And I bought it used for well under 1k. Actually for half of that.

    Loveee it!

Edit: I bought it used on the timezone forum mentioned and have since picked up a new seiko orange monster.

I'm seriously lusting after one of Yao's creations and may end up selling the 6306 and a kidney to get one.

My advice is to lock you credit cards in a Swiss bank vault before you check out this place. The forums are pretty comprehensive.

No kidding, I've become a bit of an addict since my first visit there. For a while I was going back daily. The good news is that I'm a Seiko guy so I can manage my my disease with relative affordability and value. The SBDC001 aka Sumo (right) is my current daily wearer, but the Marine Master 300 (left) is my grail.

Traser is on my radar now. That site has a model w/ an alarm for less than $500. Not a bad deal at all.

Well, since this is in TAoW now, let me just say that I'd trade my truck for this:

This MTM is a total cliche but its light mode feature would be very useful to me, although I realize I'd be pay bucks just for the macho model name......

I'm getting ready to dump the aforementioned 6306 to partially fund a MKII. It just came back from Jack at IWW last week all ready to go for a new owner. Likely holding out for a used Paradive (Benrus repo). These Kingstons (nod to Bond-era Submariners) haven't even been fully delivered yet and are already going for more used than they were new...

I have to confess that I don't know much about watches. I don't wear them, or any jewelry for that matter. I have a friend who is a watchmaker; and if I was ever in the market, he'd get my business.

Seeing that a custom made watch isn't in my budget right now (or probably anywhere in the near future); this looks good to me for $410.

Perusing this thread got me interested in the Maratac/NATO watch bands. I have had this swiss army watch for 15 years and decided to freshen it up. I picked up two bands from maratac. I think the bond bands really looks good on this watch.

I sold my old Yao to someone on Vsalon. How is it? Can I have it back?

The Rolex Explorer is in the safe and I'm sporting a Timex Ironmon these days.

Great thread. I've been looking for a traditional moon phase. Any suggestions for a "reasonably" priced automatic or otherwise?

Been shopping a bit for something new. Really liked the look of the TagFormula 1 Grande Date, and found it (at what I thought) was a very fair price. Problem is that it would need to be sent off any time the battery needed to be replaced. Would much prefer an automatic.

Also checked out the Omega Sea Master, Planet Ocean. Really liked it but the local shop is pretty proud of them.

    Any suggestions?

I got Jason's refurbished Seiko and it's pretty darn great.
Still, my all time fav. will be and remains the Omega Seamaster. It is light, thin and wickedly rugged. I've never given second thought to wearing it during races and offroad training.
