I can walk to two top-notch bagels.

Some Floridians may argue about the second place, but I didn't hear any complaints until mid-way through the walk back.

They have been around since dirt was invented and lucky me my last pair of Elkskin gloves finally gave it up.

Have you considered moving your Airstream closer to the bagel shop? The lox supply is a little low out in the woods.

I am not sure if you meant to use the term "lox" but it drives me crazy when people use the terms "Nova" and "Lox" interchangeably because they are not the same thing. From: What’s The Difference Between Smoked Salmon And Lox?

"Lox refers to salmon cured in a salt-sugar rub or brine (like gravlax). Nova is cured and then cold-smoked (unlike lox or gravlax)."

"Real, authentic lox is made from only the belly portion of the salmon. Yup, like pork, the belly of the fish is typically the richest, fattiest and most succulent portion. Cured and smoked, it’s saltier and more…uh…”aromatic” than its milder non-belly counterpart..."

I have a Murray Carter knife that's bloody sharp, but totally unaffordable. However, he is now working with Spyderco to make production knives. They look pretty good.

I don't like Spyderco's folding knives because they're so 'tall' due to the Spydie Hole, they take up a lot of pocket space. I just got my Bugout back from Benchmade*, and man, I love this knife. I swapped out the plastic handles for some sandblasted titanium scales. Love the Axis Lock, nice thin blade, good point, handle fits my hand perfect, and it's invisible in the pocket - it's thin and only ~1.25" "tall".

*I had to send it in for repair because when swapping the handle I cross threaded one of the screws holding in the liner, and stripped out the liner. And they won't just send you a new liner, you have to send it back to them for repair. They didn't charge me for it thankfully, even tho I voided the warranty when I swapped the handle.

That said, I do want one of these from Spyderco, but they're sold out everyone at the moment. The MSRP on the site is about $100 more than the real life retail price FYI.

Nice knife! Too Tall - I am a well documented Benchmade fan-boy here and the Axis-Lock was my favorite too...until I tried and fell in love with the compression lock on the back side of my Spyderco Paramilitary-2.

Nice! Yeah I love mine (also one of the D2 'sprint-runs' with lunar-green scales). It's a bit large for most edc needs but fits fine the mid-thigh pocket of my work Carhartts.

In addition to world poverty, middle east peace, the state of our country ....and of course a health issue that limits my flexibility so I can really never fit correctly on a Zetti.

Clearly you underestimate the difference. Next time you are in Boston, bagels and Nova or Lox are on me at Zaftigs. Or we can meet up in NYC and go to Zabars or Russ & Daughters.

Kupels to Exodus. Not Zaftigs. Nope.

And yeah, I know I know. I have never been to Katz and think about this deficiency every time I go north over the Tobin.

Live near Kupels but I still find Rosenfeld's the best local bagel (originally recommended by TTX1).
