Didn’t notice the tank cover before. Besides the map holder, and protection against wear on the paint, does it have another function?

Not really, and some have told me that it might be slightly abrasive to the paint, but I haven't seen any signs of that.

I guess I just like how it looks mostly...

I'm heading up to MaxBMW today to demo some bikes...

Should be interesting since the most modern motorcycle I've ever ridden in my life is my '84 ST.

Good thing I have no money to spend...

I bet you would love the new F 850 GS adventure or similar. They looks amazing. The new GSAs are kinda over the top, pretty but over the top.

You are in for a real treat. The modern 1250 boxers are amazing engines. They are also loaded with all types of electronic aids and niceties to "enhance" the riding experience. The cost of ownership out of warranty would worry me.

So i rode the 1250GS...it sure was nice.

Agree that the only way to do it is new with full warranty, so much that could go wrong!

I sat on a few other bikes (R1250R, R9T) but nothing else really did much for me so the GS was the only one I demo'd.

Some day I will be rich and will buy all the shit I want hahahahaha .

Bet that was a blast. Apparently, that bike has a bit more grunt than mine.

Gotta put up the daily driver then. The car sees very little use nowadays, especially with the 2x2 racks on the back for the bike. I love the looks that I get when driving around and pulling into the trailhead.

It's exactly what I am looking for. Lower cc's, no clutch, which I cannot use my foot to shift anymore from an Iraq injury, and only 360lbs. It looks damn good, agile, great for city riding here in the Denver area, and did I mention how good it looks? I put my order in at Husqvarna this week, so I am not sure why I am on the waiting list yet.

No clutch? Are you sure about that? I thought the Husky 401 had a standard transmission.

Yes, sorry, I was thinking of another bike that I was looking at. This one has a speedshifter and an easy shift sensor that removes the need to pull the clutch lever, and just shift through the foot lever when convenient.

Full disclosure, I don’t now and never had a motorcycle but I saw this yesterday and it brought a smile to my face.
