Today we are heading up to Lake Griffin State Park. Just south of Ocala, Clermont/Leesburg area off 27. Never been before so we'll scope it out.

I just received tentative approval to telework from Arizona 4 months a year, so that I can avoid the Virginia winters. Now I just need to build a house and will be Garro's next door neighbor....

Share as much as you want of this adventure. At my far, far distance from having a getaway property I daydream about renovating a cabin on the river or combining small modular prefab pieces such as M SERIES | Method Homes. Just enough house and a lot of outside.

Kids' ages? My boy is 5. He's never camped - but I think he'd have a good time. I have enough equipment for him and I. Now, if I decide to bring the dog (do they allow dogs in most parks?) - I'd need a larger tent.

My boy is 6 1/2. They would have a blast. I believe dogs are allowed but have to be kept on leash. Dog rules are different though depending on the park. All we have is a 3P tent, which is good for the two of us.

Tomorrow's cross race - #5 for me this season - is 2 minutes from my house, and I don't race until 10:45, so I can sleep until 7. And I get to watch my son race on a new-to-him bike at 9. Then Rosey's gonna deliver my new Zank hoodie in the afternoon.

No beer at the venue, but did I mention that my house is 2 minutes away?

My neighborhood is ethnically and racially mixed as any in Chicago. The breeding demographic for a lot of reasons is primarily first and second generation emigrant Latino.

I have really come to enjoy their take on Halloween.

Rather than assault fellow residents, the parents and kids congregrate on the main drag creating an impromtu costume parade. I stopped my bike and watched the creative one upmanship for a spell then continued on a few blocks to my blissfully quiet condo.

I had a similar experience last night. I spend a lot of time bitching about DC, but last night reminded me that in some respects I live in a very cool area. The river is just blocks away, bars and restaurants are within walking distance, and my neighborhood is pretty cool. Last night the wife and I went to Lee St. Alexandria and were treated to hundreds of folks dressed up and having fun. We even saw a pack of 35ish cyclists with chemlights and costumes going down the Mt. Vernon pathway.

Anything that Dario sends out will be special.

I don't have a problem with middle men if they offer a service. This one so far, has not. But I haven't talked to him yet to let him know that I've corrected his oversight so we'll see how that goes. Everyone makes mistakes, how they're dealt with is the difference between a win and a fail.

I've always dreamed of having a business. The chance to do it has basically fallen in my lap with almost no money requirement from me. I'm terribly afraid of the risk, but it might actually happen.

First in the week because in Salzburg it is already Friday!!!
I had to test ride a KTM 450 Factory Rally bike today and it is only 9:30. Yea work sucks!! :)
The weather will be about 17c today and I finish work at 12:00. The big question is should I go for a roadie ride or a MTB ride??????

After years of me shouting, waving my arms, foaming at the mouth and my eyes rolling crazily in my head the company is starting to move in the direction I told them they were stupid not to go and they are making slow commitments toward it and I get to go to class in Detroit next week. I have to drive there early Monday morning from upstate NY, but what the hell. How does that go - the fastest car in the world is a rental?
