I've never had a meal that expensive. Most I've ever paid for a meal was about $150 a head (while on our honeymoon), and while it was good, and 'an experience', I wouldn't do it again.

I've also had plenty of expensive meals ($50/head or so) that weren't good, much less worth the money.
I'll answer having eaten there on a few occasions. Since it opened in 2004, prices keep going up and reservations keep getting harder to get.

If you set aside a few hours and do it proper, I think Stone Barn can be pretty spectacular. If Bill was there a few weeks ago, he probably was there for fall harvest.

If I had a choice, I'd go on a Sunday early afternoon and not rush.

I'd tell you the same thing for Per Se, Sunday afternoon, don't rush.
Much better than the evening. Because the people that are there at the time tend to be foodies as opposed to the T&E crowd.

Some good suggestions here I need to check out.

    On Netflix we've been liking:

    Glow - women's TV wrestling.

Norsemen - 9th-century Vikings with 21st-century neuroses. In English but the cast is Norwegian... it's pretty nuts...

The third season of The affair ends w/ an elegant reference to John Ford´s The searchers. "Debbie.. let´s go home". Ethan brings Debbie home but he can´t come in.. cause he lives in sin, hands tinted w/ blood. Maybe the greatest movie ever made.

Episode one of The Handmaid's Tale was pretty darn good. My wife put it on over dinner the other day with me having never heard of it (and expecting something Downton Abbey-esque).

Not since I burned through Black Mirror has a show got me so intrigued and uncomfortable all at once. It's unsettling that these dystopian societies don't seem so far away from reality.

When Atwood started writing the book, the overthrow of the Shah of Iran by a totalitarian theocracy was undoubtedly fresh in her mind. By her own accounts, there is nothing in the book that hasn't already happened somewhere, sometime in the arc of "civilization" (although the Ceremony is based on the Bible, which is generally a work of fiction).

It´s good. No big plots or exceptional characters but great 60s reconstruction and good acting.

No exceptional characters?? We're two episodes in, but Ed Kemper is a fantastic character - fascinating, scary, and uber-creepy all at once. And he's a real guy...

There are spoilers here, but if you're in the show just read as far down as you've gotten so far:
'Mindhunter': How the real serial killers compare to show's versions - INSIDER

Season two is going to be about the child murders in Atlanta. Mindhunter Season 2 Will Tackle the Atlanta Child Murders | Collider

Kemper does not carry any action at least on the first season. He doesn´t move the game. Nothing is played around him like it´s played around Hannibal Lecter.
Lecter tests Clarice. She makes her do things. What did Kemper do on the whole first season? I am not saying he is ordinary in real life ... but i am watching
    fiction not real life.

Same here! It's a little over-dramatic at times but certainly entertaining. A little irksome that Netflix is releasing one episode at a time. I've grown accustomed to having full a full season's worth of episodes available all at once.

Agreed. We dvr it and watch it when it fits the schedule. Kiefer Sutherland plays that role so well.

I'm giving this one a bump back up to the top since I found a couple worthy series to watch from the thread and also because I don't recall seeing USA's series "Mr. Robot" mentioned. Season 3 does not seem as gripping and fresh as the first 2 but they are really studied, brilliant television. the camera work, the writing, the intrigues, the acting. I was hooked from season 1. check it out if you're digging about for one to sink your teeth into
