There's a guy named Brook Reams who is completely restoring an '83 R80ST to be auctioned for charity.
He just finished installing and aligning the forks, but I have watched all of his videos and the restoration is fascinating.

^^^ good stuff. I’m not restoring my old truck but I frequent an old truck forum for the same reason, because some people are really good at documenting their process.

hey, how lucky can one man get.
I see a local on his 800gs some mornings. Looks like a super commuter in all weather.

A YT recommendation that turns out to be a nice little travelogue of a credit card tour in Hokkaido. Features an air cooled bike with a kick starter!
On our cycling tour of Hokkaido, we saw plenty of motorcycle tourists, some loaded up with bags for camping. The roads are pretty immaculate, and outside of Sapporo and Asahikawa, the car traffic can be non-existent for miles. The most popular routes seemed to include the eastern side of Daisetsuzan National Park along rt. 273 and the roads from Kushiro to Rausu, either through Akan-Mashu National Park or along the eastern coast. We learned later that quite a few motorcyclists took the ferry to Sapporo and then did a loop north and east and then back to Sapporo for the ferry back home. As far as we could tell there was no bad food in Hokkaido. Rausu has a seafood restaurant that is unbelievable. Really an amazing place to visit.

Part 2. I’m loving how out of shape they can get during a slow motion launch. Looks like a kick in the pants!
Yet another reason to visit Japan....aside from my noodle obesssion.

I don't know if she has been mentioned here before but Itchy Boots is definitely worth watching. She is a 35 year old, solo female, world traveler, from the Netherlands. She stays off the main routes and rides as much dirt / gravel roads as possible. Me and the Mrs are currently watching season 5 which is her trip from South America to Alaska. Each day is about a 20 minute video.
