10pt buck with compound fracture to its front leg at end of radius above carpal area. Looked like a bullet wound. Still has his glamour pose working though.

I called the guys and tracked him a while through the woods. They couldn't get here until this evening, so I gave up after his trail disappeared. How a big deer with a large rack and only 3 legs can disappear like that is pretty amazing. The hoof prints just stop. I almost looked up in the tree to see if he was up there somewhere. If the guys don't get him tomorrow, the coyotes will. Clear night tomorrow night with an almost full moon.

^^^ Great pic! I tried that with alpacas, but they all ran away from the wierdo in the bike helmet.

I don't particularly like hunting and killing, but I really dislike hunters who aren't able to finish the job as quickly as possible.
It's easy to be a tough guy frontiersman, when you're the one with the rifle, the risk to you is minimal and you're unlikely to feel any part of the pain you're about to inflict on a living creature, usually just for sport.
Your feelings are mirrored by the real hunters around here. They are all disgusted by the deer wounded by bad shots or hunters who don’t track down wounded animals. One of the guys we gave permission to hunt on our property is coming here with his brother tomorrow instead of their plan to hunt a more remote (better) spot just to see if they can find the wounded buck. It is a big deer so there is benefit to them if they find it, but it isn’t a sure thing that they’d find it.
I've found joy in slow pedalling - bliss!

Not a scenic panorama of nature, but I like the composure of this photo. This is my wife and one of her horses. They won the speed round of a working equitation competition this past weekend. Syndicate was on a kill lot about five years ago and purchased for $400. He just needed the right person and has been a lifetime horse for my wife. He is big for a quarterhorse, but it works well with my 6'3" wife.

I don’t like mtb when it’s wet, however went slowly no skidding. Dog was a lot happier than the pic suggests, she ran around like a little kid and was filthy by the end.
