For some reason this week I got the idea of doing an unaccompanied solo electric bass arrangement of Carly Simon's 1971 hit "That's The Way I've Always Heard It Should Be" so it's been on endless repeat in my head, and, on occasion, on my laptop:

I caught Anderson East on Austin City Limits. If I could post a link I would. Just spent the last hour listening on YouTube. Kind of Van Morrison from Tennessee.

Fiona Apple, mostly. Damn.
Sonic Youth too. Wilco. Trying out Drive-By Truckers so I can move through time towards Jason Isbell.
Whatever shit my daughter or her boyfriend are listening to. OK sometimes it's good. New Zealand pop? Who knew?
GO!
Disagree. I have been a Truckers fan forever, and an an Isbell fan since he was in the Truckers. The stuff that Isbell wrote for the Truckers is still some of his best, and Decoration Day and the Dirty South are great albums that any Isbell fan should own. IMO Isbell’s older stuff on Sirens of the Ditch, 400 Unit and Here we Rest are his best. I’m not too font of reunions. It’s too bright and over-produced for my tastes. As for Isbell live, I still love his 2012 live from Alabama. Live from Alabama - Jason Isbell & the 4 Unit | Songs, Reviews, Credits | AllMusic.
+1 I've seen the Truckers around 30 times, most with Isbell. Those were salad days. I saw Isbell last year with Son Volt opening. The latter was better even in daylight on that night. All that said, Isbell is obviously an immensely talented and thoughtful artist.
Currently listening to Midnight Marauders.
I've spent this week in awe of so many people thinking of others, doing for others, and trying to take care of each other.
And then, I put on some music while doing some late work, and this comes on.
It's a great song. I forgive myself for laughing out loud.

My late catch-up on the third season of GLOW sent me down the Fleetwood Mac rabbit hole, starting with Gypsy. I'll assume everyone has this already and a link is not needed.
I have been on a LA area classic rock/folk kick for the last month and lately it has been all Linda Ronstadt all the time.
GO!

Just discovered Junior Kimbrough and can't get enough of him. This entire album is just terrific - now to find it on vinyl.
Pretty random, but I'm listening to The Runaways right now. Not sure what inspired me.

I heard this while shopping the other day. Brought back memories of an interesting time...
Music videos were certainly strange in 1985...
