Sounds like a great night of music. I'm sure Jules and Critter were incredible.
I'm surprised you didn't like Aoife more. I'm infatuated with her new tunes. They have a Joni Mitchell quality with depth and unique phrasing.
Check back in after you see her with Sara and Sarah.

It was excellent, as were the three other shows!
dinosaur jr. last night, killed it. I have seen them 10 times, and each one was the loudest show ever. Maybe its the huge stack of Marshalls? J Mascis is obviously a killer, but the bass player shredded.

I heard Nellie McKay do her "A Girl Named Bill: The Life and Times of Billy Tipton" show last night. It was the sixth time i have heard her perform, but the first time i have seen one of her themed shows. It was somewhere between a stage play and a musical review. She goes through multiple costume changes and tells the story through song and acting out the role. After the "show" she did a few unrelated numbers, a Monk tune and finished with "The Dog Song". She obviously is an amazingly talented singer and pianist, with strong political views she is not afraid to voice directly, who is looking for more multidimensional ways to perform. But for me, i prefer the performances where she sticks to her great musicianship and lets the songs tell the story...

Slightly Stoopid 18th August 2017 @ Red Rocks
Next show up: Lucinda Williams
followed by a big weekend: Jason Isbell at the Beacon, then to the Wilco Festival in No. Adams to see Dave & Phil Alvin, Wilco, Tweedy, etc.
Peter Asher and Albert Lee at the Van Dyck.
Two more... Tony Levin's Stick Men and Duke Robillard at the Van Dyck.
I laughed yesterday.. the Egg sent me an email yesterday for presale access to Kenny Wayne Shepherd in August... for tickets that went on sale to the public three days prior to the email... I'd not have been so amused if I hadn't been to the show there that they were simulcasting on Yahoo Music or some such thing and they absolutely killed it that night. They were promoting the album they did of all old kind of not so well known blues classics and they just went totally over the top with it.
How about concerts I have to miss in the next two weeks? Let's see here...
