After ride Fritatta: 12 local eggs, home grown kale, chard, tatsoi, parsley and basil. Red pepper, onion, yellow potato, thyme and a grate of parm. Start on stovetop, finish in the oven. Served with an Iggy's Baguette.

I'm down with hosting a meet and eat. There is some wild boar up the hill. I'll need to have Mrs. Haole talk to her students to find out which ones have family that are pig hunters. There are always one or two. This may also involve hiring a fishing charter to see what we can haul out of the water.

Anybody have a spare jet? I know at least two pilots. What could go wrong?

Considering that there will be a deep fryer going, plenty.

About to attempt carbonara for the first time. Will update with a pic of pasta and scrambled eggs after I'm done.

You got this. It's easier than almost everyone makes it sound.

We didn't scramble the eggs! The kids want a do-over with parmigiano-reggiano instead of pecorino next weekend, though. It was fun to make with them, since we were all on stations for bringing everything together quickly. The warming drawer in our range finally saw use, and it worked flawlessly for tossing everything together at the end.

Tomatoes and Jalapenos are coming in strong soooo I whipped up a fresh salsa.

    1. Saute finely minced hardneck garlic in cast iron with butter/EVO/salt/pepper/scant red pepper flakes
    2. Mince Jalapenos
    3. Mince Tomatoes

Combine everything, let sit for a few mins than de-water a bit, not too much and for g-dsakes save the water!

Guy, that's a bit of heaven. Nice work.

If you show up to my door with a stupid grin and a huge bucket of blackberries I'll do something with it.

Lucky you! My berry patch has been found by by the local woodchuck and his friends. I'm going to need to build an enclosure to keep them safe but too late for this year...

I feel like I've got the cooking part down pretty well, but my plating and food photography is really quite poor. In any event, roasted trout, potatoes, and grapes:

    Weeknight after ride supper:

First localish corn (from Connecticut) steamed with grilled italian sausage and braised fresh from the garden beet greens with garlic. Soda water in D2R2 and Peoples Pint glasses... Must get in the mood!

Left over salmon pesto red pepper pizza. At least there are two place settings. Sigh.

Vacation wouldn't be complete without a family shrimp fest. Shrimp, corn and other goodies direct from the market to the kitchen.
