I love that olive color. I’ve been playing with ideas for a repaint of one of my bikes, and that’d be very nice.

Richard - is that new livery also for upcoming client units or solely a team thing? Molto piacevole.

Hey Lou - We're open to using it going forward but it should be said that there are six paint colors that go specifically with six distinct ink combos. So the choices would be from the six team bicycles showing so far. I'm considering revamping the art files soon and making a line in the sand departure the way I did in 2012.

Every several decades I fixate on a story or part of one that changes my life. So much so that I feel a complete paradigm shift away from the path I’m walking. I live for the turns in the road, mostly because they give me reason to focus.

More than a quarter century ago, I read an article with a quote from Gabrielle Chanel who, in summarizing her place in the fashion industry said, “With these scissors I cut away everything that was superfluous in the creations of others.”

I’ve mentioned this often, sometimes to others hoping to influence them, and sometimes just because. Because remembering her words keeps me grounded. And inspired. Motivated. As a bicycle maker in the Y2K era, I’ll take what I can get.

This picture shows what’s left after my most recent commission. The frame and fork are in the 94th percentile of what my skills, experience, and attention span have gifted me. That’s pretty good. I rarely give myself a higher score.

I like that my frames are never beyond reproach. Or above scrutiny. The little things that have their way with me are my demons. They’re also what make these bicycles what they are, no matter what they are or how they’re measured.

I once dreamed of a time when I could walk away from four days at the bench and think I finally got it licked. Nailed it from end to end. But then I grew up. I still come to work each day looking for inspiration. And a pair of scissors.

I expect you know this, but the photo above looks very much like what is left after the construction of a traditional Japanese house: barely and handful of cut off bits.

You should send the remnants to the customer along with their frame. There's a unique connection between the two.

we have serious september issues every year as the season approaches.

it all started with a photo of a tonal red outfit. then two words combined into the question that drives us - what if?

    fash·ion
    /ˈfaSHən/

    noun
a popular trend, especially in styles of dress and ornament or manners of behavior. ”his hair is cut in the latest fashion.”

    time·less
    /ˈtīmləs/

    adjective
not affected by the passage of time or changes in fashion. ”antiques add to the timeless atmosphere of the dining room.”

what if we combined the two words? a timeless bicycle design meets a color palette inspired by some of our favorite high end runway fashion. bring back the elegance? yes. but let’s up the ante.

it is no secret we have a love for design. we collect, study, deconstruct and reconstruct ideas and items. have you ever cut a box apart to save the color test pattern? have you ever done it obsessively? we have.

look to fashion for color inspiration. create a palette and find the perfect tonal complement. a to b and b to a and back again. tweak the brand identity. wait. what? after 10 years it was time to nudge a few things…deconstruct a few things…play with some percentages.

    wwrd?

    the bicycle is our muse.

    the bicycle is everything.

the bicycle is our fall collection.

we hope you enjoy the show.

Whereas the American building model parks a huge dumpster on site and fills it with scraps that I would sort through and build with if it wasn't for the fact that I would be arrested for stealing (from the landfill, I guess).

Proud of these two. Trevor and Clementine.
He was third in the 30-34 CX Natz.
She was second in the 35-39 CX Natz.
They along with Meghan will race again on Sunday in their Elite categories.

Really enjoying the combinations of subdued and colorful in this year's team kit.

No one's fantasy matched their reality on Wednesday in that mud!! Nice chatting with you and unfortunately the Richard Sachs issued tires did not help me lol.
