Default why is canada a separate country anyway?

i mean, its right dang smack between conus and alaska
even sarah palin must see the logic in annexing canada

its got lots of important natural resources we need
and getting grantm would materially increase our average national intelligence

even if only during the three month season, is the cycling any good?
why are we wasting military resources in the mideast when we could take canada?

Because they use flannel as currency and we don't. It was a deal breaker.

NAFTA’s proportional sharing clause (Article 605) obliges Canada to continue exporting non-renewable hydrocarbons to the U.S. in the same proportion of total supply as were sold to the U.S. over the three previous years. Since the U.S. is our largest export market, this means there is nothing in the free market to stop our exports from going higher. Meanwhile, Quebec and Atlantic Canada rely on imports to meet 90 per cent of their oil needs.

Why would you spend resources annexxing when all you have to do is bully the Canadian government into it? :)

there's even a framebuilder up there. he went by "Klondike Bike" back in the day at the FF 1.0.

besides, we can't manage our own turf, why bother with more?

renaming north dakota as "southern manitoba" would be a good first step. maybe we can slowly infiltrate canada with our starbucks and SUVs and no one will notice...

    just a thought

If I may be the contrarian, I'd prefer that it go the other direction and we see Second Cup begin a southerly creep.

    They can keep the BlackBerries.

Tim Horton's is already making a decent run into the US. With all that is happening in the US, perhaps you'all might consider joining us (says the CDN ex pat living near DC)

If we annex Canada, then Hockey Night in Canada will become irrelevant. If that happens, you have Don Cherry without a job and unfettered rights to travel throughout the USA. You do not want that.
