    Default RIP Frank Berto

I will freely admit that as a kid growing up in the 70s and 80s I read plenty of Berto's tech articles in Bicycling magazine. a consummate tinkerer and tester. and journalist. I even googled him not too long ago wondering if he was still with us. Anyway, no more, but someone worth celebrating.

I still keep his chart on optimum tire pressure vs. width on hand.

Great work, his willingness to experiment and empiricize. Learn by doing, and share the results.

    RIP, Frank.

At a time when cycling was immersed in myth and lore, Frank was a voice
reason and science, which we could still use more of today, in every part of life.

    Bon Voyage.
