oops, still getting used to this list! sorry for the double post....
For us punters. Spent the day dealing with all the fiddly bits on the rear end of #3.
Someday I'll make a beautiful bike, but for now I gotta say, pre-mitred bits f-ing rule.
2013-07-13 10.03.54.jpg
A few minutes with a file and some 80-grit and the brake bosses looked sweet. You'll have to trust me, I forgot to take a picture of the end result. The jig is an leftover bit from a Salsa rack mount kit and a pair of vice grips. Worked a treat.
2013-07-13 10.30.53.jpg
You could figure out a fancy jig to attach the rack bosses, or just jam three old spokes into the bolt holes then hang a set of Vice-Grips for tension and wing that shit.
2013-07-13 12.44.27.jpg
Getting the rear brake cable stop positioned correctly was a major pain. Eventually, I found a solution. In my shop there's the right way, the wrong way and the Norwegian way. :-)
2013-07-13 14.27.20.jpg
The rear cable stop all cleaned up. She came out nice.
2013-07-13 16.22.47.jpg
Getting the damn thing centered-ish and at more or less the right angle was a major pain. It's a modern look on an old-school frame and I'm honestly not in love with it. I'm not sure if I'd do the mono-stop thing again.
2013-07-13 16.20.43.jpg
Sorry, I just love this detail. All rusted up and ready for powder.
