Default Would you put a $90 strap on a $200 watch?

I just got a Scurfa Diver One with yellow dial and PVD case. As you can see below, it comes with a black rubber strap.

However, with the black bezel, black case and black strap, I think it's a bit too much black, so I'm thinking of getting a strap with yellow stitching to add some variety.

I've narrowed my choices down to

    1) A Strapsco black rubber strap (middle image) that's $18, and

    2) A Hirsch Robby with leather top and rubber lower surface, that's currently going for $90. (bottom image)
When I checked a few days ago it was over $100.

    What do you think?

    a) Keep it as is with the original all-black strap,
    b) Get the Strapsco
    c) Splurge and get the Hirsch Robby

    I would. No doubt.

But - I also just can’t get along with Hirsch straps. I opt for BandR’s new waterproof strap. Don’t think they have yellow, though.

    Interesting.

I have my Seiko Alpinist on a Hirsch Liberty and like that just fine, but that's totally different from the Robby, so I doubt that means a whole lot.

That watch would look boss with a one piece NATO (or diver) strap. Those cost anything from $10 on eBay up to $30 elsewhere. Once you know your lug width, it’s nice to have a few colors.

Straps are wear items. Because I don't lile spoiling planeth earth resources just for the sake of aesthetics I would wait for the black one to wear out before swapping for one I like better.

The Performance series straps just feel cheap to me; construction and the rubber. I’ve had 2. What’s the lug width in your watch? If it happens to be 20mm, I’ll gladly send you my blue Robby. Colors will be very elementary school art project, but it’ll help you get an idea of the feel.

One strap I’m really intrigued by is Artem.

It so happens that the Scurfa does have a 20mm lug width.

Let me think about it some more. If I'm seriously considering the Robby I'll get back to you. Thanks for the offer.
