Special project I developed earlier in the year with local Maori weaver Mahi Topara. Many types of patterns all of which have different meanings, she tells me the pattern woven on this frame signifies peace and friendship.
Bamboo is plenty crash tolerant on its own. The idea behind laminating bamboo tube with flax woven sheath is to create a bomb proof pole slam-able commuter.
