this is about as tough as it gets. never in a million years! my buddy was the 1st american to complete it. he is also a cycling addict and has taken up cross in the past few yrs. i'm betting he wins a race sooner than later. he's a tough determined nut.

I had a world class skipper, a world class crew, and someone had a gun to my head.
Otherwise, No way!! Those guys are nuts! Look at that boom swing past at about 1:40.
Being on deck when that swung around would be an instant death sentence. If I were
on that boat the best I could hope for is to end up like the S.S. Minnow... and I prefer
