    Default OE Serotta Forks

We just got our first OE version of the S3 fork on Wednesday. It took about nine days to get here after the order as they stock them without the drops bonded in yet. The OE version is unfinished ... ie. no paint, no clear. It is NOT simply out of the mold however. We've gotten any number of them when we have been testing prototypes. The S3 is fully ground and sanded, ready for whatever finish you are putting on it. Very clean, nicely done. It is what I'd expect from Mike Lopez. He is the guy who used to be with Reynolds / McLean when he was in charge of their fork development. He had been with Reynolds from the earliest days. The guy knows his stuff.

Ben and Mike are now filling in where Reynolds and AlphaQ left off when they left the fork business. A wider range of rakes, tire clearances, fender mounts, weights, etc. So for those of you who have been looking for forks to fill in the gaps, Ben's doing it. And in the OE finish, the price for a very high quality customizable product are quite good. Cool. And get the word out. Have a nice weekend.

Tom - do you have a contact for OE accounts w/ serotta? If they're going to make their new cx forks available, I'd be really interested in trying them out. More options = more awesome.

I don't know if Steve is the official OE contact guy, but he is the one I have been dealing with. He has been very professional and delivery has been spot on relative to promised dates. His contact information is:

Now that we've gotten a few of these things through here, a bit of an update. Random notes:

    - Delivery dates always less than promised. They usually quote two weeks for an S3 and we get them in a week or less.
    - Alignment has been WAY better than average. Actually well within our own tolerances.
    - Finish is excellent, even though there is no finish on the OE forks. They just look finished when they get here.
    - No charge for stiffer version (8.5).
    - Nice long steerers. (353mm)
    - Surprisingly, the OE pricing is very fair.

We haven't needed any of the other forks yet; cross, touring, etc. so I have no news on those.

It is nice to have more than just two composite fork options to choose from. With the three that we now work with, we can get pretty much any style / function that we want. Cool. Thought you'd like to know.

    Tom -

Thanks for bumping this with updated info.
I'm glad to publicly hear that our company is reliably meeting your needs.
If you have other needs, such as a 650c fork that's not made from a chopped 700c molded part, let someone there know A.S.A.P.
