Wow...Richard Attenborough.
I could hear his voice before even playing the video...seemed like my dad was always watching nature shows with him while I was growing up (now 51).
I used to join him all the time...thanks for the memory!

Attenborough is a legend!
The documentary this comes from, The Life of Birds, is up on Netflix (along with a bunch of other Attenborough docs).
I'm pretty sure I watched this while on the rollers once.
Saw the first of Attenborough's new "Planet Earth II" yesterday, really wonderful. Planet Earth II (TV Mini-Series 2 16) - IMDb

cool bird.
I heard him mimicking a leaf blower outside my house awhile ago.
camera shutter... wow.
Hearing that bird mimic the nearby chainsaw made me as sad as I have been in years. The election isn't helping. :(
The recording of the lyrebird mimicking a motorised camera shutter is of a bird called "Chook"* who was resident in Adelaide Zoo for many years. Chook died about 5 years ago, he was 32.
* "Chook" is Australian slang for a hen as in " my neighbour runs a few chooks in the back yard".
